Beloved 90 Day Fiance star Chuck Potthast died on Sunday, November 9, 2025, and 90 Day Fiance learned of his death weeks later after his daughter, Elizabeth Potthast, shared her first post about it. In the time since, we’ve been learning details about Chuck’s health and his struggles leading up to his last day.
Most recently, the 911 call following Chuck’s death has been made public. TMZ shared the harrowing call, made by “Chuck Potthast’s son,” though it did not specify which one of his four sons (David, Charlie, Daniel, and Michael) made the call.
In the audio, the caller told a 911 dispatcher that his father was found lying in the bathtub and bleeding from the chest. After prodding from the 911 dispatcher, Chuck’s son said his father was lying face down and no longer looked alive.
Those unfortunate details have stunned 90 Day Fiance fans, who quickly reacted to the 911 call being released following Chuck’s death.
Chuck Potthast’s 911 call has 90 Day Fiance fans upset
90 Day Fiance fans quickly filled the comments section on a Facebook post about Chuck Potthast’s 911 call. One of the first to respond wrote, “can we normalize not releasing 911 calls?”
Another chimed in, “Why do we need to hear this?”
A third agreed, writing, “Why does this need to be public knowledge? Poor family.”
Many of the comments that followed echoed the same, with fans of the show chiming in with their condolences, and many questioning why this call would be shared publicly. Others exclaimed that they would respect the Potthast family’s privacy.
Elizabeth Potthast and the rest of the family are in mourning
On November 23, Elizabeth Potthast broke the news that Chuck Potthast had died with a post captioned, “Two weeks ago, tragedy struck our family and it has left us completely shattered. My sweet, loving, and caring dad went to heaven. We’re trying to figure out how to navigate our lives and move forward without him. Please respect our privacy during this extremely difficult time.💔”
She included a photo of herself, husband Andrei Castravet, their children and her father, Chuck.
Three days later, Elizabeth posted again. This time, she wrote, “Every day feels like a bad nightmare I can’t wake up from. It’s surreal, and I don’t know how this hole in my heart can ever be filled. I love you so much dadda💔”
This post had two photos of Elizabeth and Chuck. Both photos featured the father-daughter duo when she was a small child.
Andrei Castravet shared a post on Instagram to honor Chuck. Charlie Potthast has remained silent on social media, but his wife, Meg Potthast, shared a lengthy tribute.
