Kendra Caldwell has risen in popularity recently as her husband, Joseph Duggar, has made national headlines.
She is no stranger to publicity. However, most of it has come because she married into the Duggar family while filming their reality TV show.
Counting On heavily featured Kendra and Joseph, including the births of three of their four children. In fact, one of the last episodes that aired before TLC canceled the reality TV show featured the birth of their third child, Brooklyn Praise.
With Joseph’s arrest front and center in the media, curiosity has risen about who Kendra is and the family she came from.
While she didn’t come from a family as big as the Duggars, Kendra did have a religious upbringing.

As the eldest child of Paul and Christina Caldwell, Kendra Caldwell is the only one who has been married. She is one of nine, with her youngest sibling born just months after she and Joseph Duggar welcomed Brooklyn.
Kendra’s father, Paul Caldwell, is a pastor. He follows the Baptist faith, which differs from the Christian Fundamentalist ideology with which the Duggars were raised. However, he officiated Joy-Anna Duggar’s wedding and, months later, married Kendra and Joseph.
Paul was often shown on Counting On as part of his daughter’s life. He even hosted a marriage retreat for some of the Duggar couples, which was heavily highlighted on the TLC reality show.
The relationship between Paul and Jim Bob Duggar appeared to be strong. Over the years, though, things have changed. There were rumblings of a falling out between the men, leaving Kendra and Joseph to balance both families separately.
As the eldest daughter, Kendra often helped out with her siblings. She and her sister Lauren are incredibly close. The rest of her siblings weren’t a part of the show.
How does Kendra fit in with the Duggar daughters?
Marrying into a big family could come with issues, but it appears that Kendra Caldwell fit in with the Duggar daughters perfectly.
She has been spotted out several times with her sisters-in-law. While filming Counting On, she was close with Joy-Anna, Jinger, and Jessa. As time has passed, she has been spotted with some of the other women who have married into the family, too.
With the current situation with Joseph Duggar, it is unclear how the relationships with her in-laws will go. Kendra and Joseph had opted for a more private life following the cancellation of Counting On, and unless she makes a public statement or is spotted out with the family, how she plans to move forward may remain unclear.
