Jeff Probst is getting in on the action during Survivor 50.
The long-time host competes in a challenge during the April 22 episode.
But it’s not just any challenge, and the stakes are pretty big.
As previously reported by Tea on TV, Jeff had teased how he would compete on Survivor 50.
Not many specifics were known, but a new teaser clip answers many questions.
“I have an idea I’d like to put into the game,” Jeff tells the castaways during a scene from the April 22 episode.

Below is a teaser video for Survivor 50, Episode 9. It features Jeff speaking about his idea with the players. It also sets the stage for what’s about to happen.
“In the spirit of The Hands of the Fans (Survivor 50’s theme), I will put the rice back up on the line, but only if five of you are willing to make a side bet… with me. Cause I’m runnin today’s challenge. If you wanna earn your rice, you’re gonna do it by outlasting me,” Jeff reveals.
“Side bet?” Aubry Bracco asks
“What’s in the box?” Tiffany Ervin and Rick Devens ask.
“Wait, what?” Tiffany adds.
Can Jeff beat the hungry castaways? He must think so. But you can see that Ozzy Lusth is ready to go.
Survivor fans react to teaser clip
There are mixed emotions among fans who have seen this clip. Some are intrigued.
“I love this. It’s much better then ‘give me your shot in the darks or sit out,'” one fan wrote.
“I think it’s a great idea. For 50 seasons he has been watching them compete so I don’t blame him for wanting to try it out,” wrote someone else.
Others feel it takes away from the game.
“Jeff is ruining his own show,” wrote a fan.
“This is genuinely so embarrassing. The fans did not vote for this,” posted another viewer.
