A Big Brother 27 twist fell flat, and many fans did not enjoy it.
Hopefully, it becomes one of those twists that gets shelved for good.
As a reminder, the BB27 cast played the game in Summer 2025.
Sixteen new players were ready to compete for a $750,000 prize.
But there was a twist. And that twist supposedly let Rachel Reilly play Big Brother again.
Rachel was on the BB12 cast, and she returned to win BB13. Later, she would compete on The Amazing Race.
Her return on BB27 was met with mixed reactions, as some fans love her, while others love to root against her.
But back to the twist that allowed her to play the game again.
The Accomplice Twist on Big Brother 27
Midway through the season premiere, players were told that an Accomplice was working with the villain of the season: The Mastermind.
That Accomplice had helped set the stage for Rachel Reilly to join the BB27 cast as the 17th player. They did so by carrying out some stealthy missions on Day One.
Houseguests were told that the Accomplice was one of them. If they could agree on which one of them was the Accomplice, that person would be evicted first. If they failed, the Accomplice would officially enter the game.
They failed. The houseguests found Rylie Jeffries suspicious and almost unanimously voted for him. The viewers at home later learned the Accomplice was Amy Bingham.
Below is a video of the houseguest trying to identify the Accomplice.
Amy later became the second person evicted. She only made it to Day 17, but her closeness to Rachel worked against her. Other people in the house wanted to weaken Rachel’s position without directly going after her (yet).
Meanwhile, social media was flooded with fans who disliked the Accomplice Twist. Would it have been more fun if Amy lasted longer than Day 17? Possibly. But her early elimination confirmed to some fans that the twist was a bad idea.
Additionally, very few Big Brother fans are convinced that Rachel Reilly would have been kept from playing BB27. Many theorized that had Amy failed as the Accomplice, another method would have been used to allow Rachel to play again.
No matter how she got on BB27, Rachel certainly provided more excitement, brought in additional viewers, and added drama to the season. Her elimination through another bad twist will also be remembered for years to come.
