Big Brother 28, Episode 1 is in the books. We have now (officially) met the BB28 cast.
It was an exciting night, and the full recap is below. In it, we break down what happened with the Day 1 challenges.

For this article, we will refer to the houseguests by name, without flooding the content with bio stuff.
Big Brother 28, Episode 1 recap
Host Julie Chen Moonves welcomed viewers and took the door to the stage. That’s where she met the audience from the pre-taped segment.
It’s an 87-day season, according to Julie, and the theme is Time Trip. Later this summer, the show will reach Episode 1,000.
But first, it was time to introduce the BB28 cast.
The women are Ashley, La Trice, Lyric (from American Idol), Melody, Haley, Taylor, and Mallory.
The men are Kamu, Drew, Jason (Salina from RuPaul’s Drag Race), Rome, Barrett, Chuk, and Yash.

The houseguests enter the game
Rome, Taylor, Ashley, Jason, and Kamu went in first. Alas, Jason was the first one through the door. Excitement and hugs ensued.
Later, La Trice, Mallory, Yash, Barrett, and Lyric were the next five. But not much time had passed.
Finally, Melody, Drew, Chuk, and Haley went in.
All 14 people got to see the house, but it was clear that something more was coming.
Julie told them all that none of them would become the first Head of Household. Someone entering the house later would get that job.
Enzo Palumbo from BB22 did a segment to present the Time Trip theme. He introduced the Dining Table Time Machine.
Julie told the players they would travel through time and retrieve three reality TV icons to join the BB28 cast.
The 14 houseguests had to race around the house to find vials featuring correct mathematical equations. The first 12 people to find them would compete for safety.
Unfortunately for them, Barrett and Ashley lost, but everyone else got to “time travel” for safety.
Time to recruit reality TV icons for BB28
July 9, 1988, was the first date. Mallory, Kamu, Rome, and La Trice took that trip to Long Beach, California.
Later, Rome won a balancing challenge. He also secured safety for the week.
Angela Murray then walked in (she was on BB26). She is back for more Big Brother, but with a new desperation to win.
July 7, 2018 was the second date. Chuk, Taylor, Drew, and Haley took this trip to Fiji (where Survivor is filmed).
The quartet had to traverse a course using boards. But only Taylor and Chuk were good at it.
Chuk won the challenge and safety. The Nigerian Cowboy is safe. He delivered a letter to Survivor host Jeff Probst in a funny skit.
Rick Devens from Survivor 50 rang the doorbell and entered the game. Angela was the most excited person in the house.
June 27, 2010, was the third date. Jason, Melody, Yash, and Lyric traveled to Las Vegas.
Their challenge required listening to audio and answering questions about it.
Jason won the challenge and safety. Later, Rachel Reilly rang the doorbell. The BB13 winner and alum from The Amazing Race entered to some shocked houseguests.
Who is safe for the week on Big Brother 28?
Jason, Chuk, and Rome are safe for the week.
Julie then revealed that Devens, Angela, and Rachel would compete for Head of Household.
They all traveled to the Jurassic Period for the HOH Competition.
Rachel began giving her speech about returning when suddenly a dinosaur came out and chased her into a volcano.
After a commercial break, Julie revealed that the velociraptor eliminated Rachel by throwing her into the volcano.
Viewers must tune in to Big Brother: Unlocked on Friday night (July 10) to learn the name of the replacement.
