It was nice to see Big Brother 28 pay tribute to Mickey Lee. Many fans had wondered how the show would address her passing, and the answer came quickly.
“In loving memory of Mickey Lee (1990 – 2025),” read the caption to a beautiful photo of Mickey that was shown at the beginning of the BB28 season premiere.
Mickey died on Christmas Day, 2025. It was sad and shocking news for the Big Brother community.
“Mickey recently suffered a series of cardiac arrests following complications from the flu and is now in the ICU in critical but stable condition. She has been surrounded by medical professionals and loved ones, but the road ahead will be long and challenging,” her family wrote about Mickey’s health in late December.
But they later shared a very sad update.
“With profound sadness, the family of Mickey Lee announces her transition on Christmas in the early evening,” the Instagram Story began on December 26.
“Mickey captured the hearts of audiences nationwide through her appearance on Big Brother, where her authenticity, strength, and spirit left a lasting impression on fans and fellow cast members alike. She will be remembered for the joy she brought into the lives of so many and for the genuine connections she formed both on and off screen,” the post continued.
Big Brother pays tribute to Mickey Lee
Mickey was part of the Big Brother 27 cast. She brought much energy to that season and had a lasting impact. It seemed like she could soon be in the running to win that season. Even after she was evicted early, many fans thought she would be a great person to invite back.

Some social media pages also posted early tributes in the hopes that CBS would follow suit.

“I hope they honor Mickey #bb28,” wrote another page.
“Tonight, Season 28 of Big Brother US will begin. We want to dedicate a post to last years houseguest, Mickey. We hope she’s resting in peace. #BB28#BigBrother,” another tribute stated.
