Is Below Deck Sailing Yacht cancelled? That’s the question that has been on Below Deck fans’ minds for well over a year.
Gary King’s sexual misconduct scandal did a lot of damage to the once-thriving Below Deck Sailing Yacht. Despite Bravo clearing him of any wrongdoing, a lawsuit against Gary, Bravo, and NBC Universal has put the show in jeopardy.
Season 5 of Below Deck Sailing Yacht was delayed airing on Bravo after the scandal broke. Gary had already filmed the season, and since he’s a department head, editing him out wasn’t an option.
Once the show did air, it was filled with toxicity and not just from Gary. When the season ended, fans wondered if it was the end of the line for the Below Deck spin-off.
An insider close to the show told Us Weekly that “no decisions” have been made about the future of Below Deck Sailing Yacht. However, we have to say things really don’t look good for the show.
In May, Bravo announced more seasons of Below Deck, Below Deck Med, and Below Deck Down Under. Those seasons have been filmed, so their renewal wasn’t surprising.
What was a shock was that Chief Stew Daisy Kelliher will be on Below Deck Down Under Season 4 with Captain Jason Chambers and Below Deck fan favorite Chef Ben Robinson.
That could simply mean another revamp is coming for Below Deck Sailing Yacht. After all, one Reddit user revealed that Parsifal III was sold, so the show will likely need to find a new sailing yacht. This would be a perfect time for a revamp.
Bravo has a full slate of Below Deck shows that will run well into the new year. The full schedule gives the network time to decide what to do with the Below Deck Sailing Yacht.
Perhaps the network wants to put a little distance between the sailing show and the Gary scandal before making any choices. BravoCon is happening in November, and that will likely be where the future of Below Deck Sailing Yacht is announced.
