Jinger Duggar recently reflected on returning to Arkansas to visit family after being away for so long.
It’s been almost a decade since Jinger married Jeremy Vuolo and moved to Laredo, Texas.
She was the first sibling to leave home permanently. Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard had moved to El Salvador to do mission work, but they returned home to Arkansas.
When the Counting On sibling left, some of her young siblings hadn’t reached double digits yet. Reflecting on her trip back home last December, Jinger and Jeremy agreed that there just wasn’t enough time to catch up with everyone.
The couple discussed how going back to Arkansas was the only way to see the whole family. Asking all the Duggars to travel to California wouldn’t work.
And throughout the conversation, Jinger dropped a few nuggets about life in the Big House.
Jinger Duggar recalls ‘kind of messy’ Big House
During a recent episode of her podcast, Jinger Duggar recalled walking into the Big House late last year and being stunned that it was super clean.
She said, “It’s like perfectly clean. And I’m walking in thinking, okay, I know typically when you show up at the big house, it’s kind of messy.”
Given that at one point there were 19 children or more living at the Big House, her revelation that it wasn’t always clean wasn’t surprising. However, it was interesting to hear her shock over the cleanliness.
Jinger, realizing that only a handful of her siblings still lived at home, was another key point. No longer are there small children running around, unless the grandchildren are visiting. Josie Duggar, the family’s youngest child, is 15.
At this point, even Jana Duggar is gone and living in Nebraska with her husband, Stephen Wissmann.
The older Duggar siblings had a much different life than the younger set, and Jinger made that connection on more than one occasion.
