Michael Strahan reveals his next TV gig after mysterious GMA absence

Michael Strahan had fans worried about his recent extended absence from Good Morning America.

However, the Pro Football Hall of Famer and TV personality returned to the morning program on Monday, alleviating any concerns.

GMA co-anchors Robin Roberts and George Stephanopoulos joined Strahan on the latest episode, as well as co-star Lara Spencer.

Popular opinion suggests that Strahan’s absence from GMA episodes for over a week was due to him vacationing with his family and girlfriend in the Hamptons.

However, some interesting new details arrived on Monday. He’s now back, appearing to be refreshed and in great spirits during the latest broadcast.

His return to GMA also came with a big reveal, as he’ll add yet another television show to his resume of appearances.

GMA revealed Michael’s newest TV gig

On Monday morning, viewers learned that Strahan navigated into some uncharted waters for him, regarding television appearances.

He has appeared on GMA and Fox NFL Sunday for years and also hosts a popular game show, The $100,000 Pyramid.

Now he’s going swimming with the sharks, as he’ll appear on ABC’s entrepreneurial show, Shark Tank!

His co-star Lara revealed the big news during Monday’s episode, with Strahan joking about having “shark teeth with a gap.”

He revealed to his GMA co-stars that he was nervous about the appearance, but eventually settled in as everyone involved with Shark Tank is excellent at making guests comfortable.

Strahan teased his co-stars that they’d have to check out his episode when it airs on ABC to see if he’d invested or shut down the prospective entrepreneurs completely.

He joked that since you have to give some of your own money, he said he “borrowed some of Robin’s to invest.” Quite the jab when it comes to the net worths of the GMA stars!

Strahan to appear in Season 17 of ABC’s show

Following the GMA reveal on July 14, Strahan and his company, SMAC Entertainment, also posted a Variety story covering his upcoming appearance.

He’ll be part of Shark Tank Season 17, which will also feature home designers Chip and Joanna Gaines, fashion designer Kendra Scott, Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian, and another former NFL player, Rashaun Williams.

While Strahan joked about money and said he was nervous on Shark Tank, we think he can handle that sort of pressure!

He has multiple ventures going. In addition to his television work, Strahan co-founded SMAC Entertainment with Constance Schwarz and owns The Michael Strahan Brand.

The latter features his exclusive menswear, skincare items, NFL apparel, and more. Strahan may have collaborated with someone on their new business idea.

It would be surprising if he walks away without partnering in someone’s venture, given Strahan’s immense popularity and ability to promote on TV.

It’s unclear if this may have been part of the reason Strahan was away from GMA, as he revealed they had already filmed his specific episode.

Viewers will get to see his episode when Shark Tank Season 17 returns this fall, typically in September or October!
