The Big Brother 27 cast just played the prizes or punishments Veto Competition. It was an important moment during Week 5 of the Summer 2025 season. It also sets the stage for some interesting drama as the Head of Household ponders their next move.
Backing it up a bit, Ava Pearl is the new Head of Household. She won the power shortly after the BB27 cast sent Jimmy home. Only 13 people remain in the competition for $750,000, and the jury phase will soon begin.
Ava nominated Keanu, Zach, and Vince for eviction. Her overall target is Keanu, which is something Ava has been open about. Many Big Brother fans turned on Ava due to how she treated Keanu, but she fulfilled her promise to nominate him if she ever got the power.
The Power of Veto results for Week 5 on Big Brother 27
Will and Katherine were picked to play in the Veto Competition. They joined Vince, Ava, Keanu, and Zach during the August 8 challenge. This challenge is the one where, after each round, someone is eliminated. That person then gets a prize or a punishment. Each eliminated person after that has the choice of stealing that prize/punishment or selecting a new one.
We will see how everything played out during the August 13 episode, but the Big Brother Live Feeds have provided many spoilers. That includes Katherine winning the Power of Veto. She can decide not to use the power and keep the nominees the same, thus helping protect Rylie from becoming a replacement nominee.
Ava won $5,000 in the challenge, Will won a trip to London thanks to Zach, and Katherine got the POV. That covers the three good prizes from the challenge.
Vince was punished with a costume (of a hard-boiled egg). Stay tuned to learn about the other punishments, but Ava has told Katherine that she can use the POV if she wants to. Katherine could save Zach. The Veto Ceremony is Monday (August 11), and the early indication is that Zach’s punishment is tied to Rachel. It will be an overnight punishment when it begins.
