A new episode of Big Brother 27 aired on Sunday night (August 10). It began with a recap of what led Jimmy to being evicted. Then, we saw the scramble to figure out who voted with Rachel to keep Jimmy in the game. It was Ashley, but she tried to change her vote during the live show.
It was then time to battle for the next HOH power. Mickey watched as the other 12 players battled to take over the house. Many players needed the power to ensure their safety, including Ashley and Rachel, after their games started blowing up.
The new Head of Household Competition was a battle of questions played head-to-head. The houseguests took turns battling to advance to the next round. It’s moments like these that showcase who might be working together in the game. Regarding the challenge, they watched videos and were asked questions about what had transpired.
- Lauren and Rylie faced off after a random draw. Rylie eliminated Lauren. He picked Zach and Kelley to battle.
- Zach eliminated Kelley. He picked Morgan and Will to battle.
- Will eliminated Morgan. He picked Katherine and Vinny to battle.
- Vinny eliminated Katherine. He picked Ashley and Rachel to battle.
- Rachel eliminated Ashley. She picked Vinny and Zach to battle.
- Zach eliminated Vinny. He picked Rachel and Keanu to battle.
- Rachel eliminated Keanu. She picked Zach and Rylie to battle.
- Rylie eliminated Zach. He picked Rachel and Will to battle.
- Will eliminated Rachel. He picked Ava and Rylie to battle.
- Ava eliminated Rylie.
- Ava eliminated Will in the final round to become the new Head of Household.
Ava Pearl takes control of Big Brother 27
The first announcement from the new HOH was that she didn’t want any one-on-one meetings. It was a change of pace for the house, but it gave Ava more control over what might transpire. From there, it was time to debate about who might go on the block, but Keanu was certainly worried.
Ava went to Rachel and told her she was safe for the week. Rachel loved it and noted that she “felt incredible” during her Diary Room session. Ava also told Morgan and Zach that they would be safe before she went to Mickey for some advice.
The nomination plan was Keanu, Vince, and Ashley. Ava disliked the fellas and felt Ashley wasn’t trustworthy. Mickey went into “damage control” and talked Ava down from nominating Ashley.
A segment was also shown that featured some kissing between Rylie and Katherine. It was the same footage shown on the latest episode of Big Brother: Unlocked.

Ava reveals her Week 5 nominations
Ava nominated Vinny, Keanu, and Zach for eviction. Mickey saved Ashley by chatting up Ava and then having Will throw out Zach’s name.
