The Big Brother 2025 season has a treat in store for viewers, which could help prevent episodes from feeling rushed every week.
Typically, there are weeks of Big Brother where too much is happening, leading to episode editors skipping over moments that occur in the house.
With only three primetime hours to cover everything each week, there isn’t enough time to reveal everything from the 24/7 game.
CBS has decided to give Big Brother producers an assist, much like how Survivor and The Amazing Race have been working in recent years.
During the past spring, Survivor 48 ran for 90 minutes. It was followed by 90-minute episodes of The Amazing Race.
The two shows covered the three hours of primetime coverage on Wednesday nights. It gave fans much more than the regular 60-minute episodes.
Big Brother 27 will have 90-minute Wednesday night episodes
This summer, Big Brother 27 will have 90-minute episodes every Wednesday night.
The change will allow producers to cover more of the interpersonal conversations and strategies, enabling them to avoid rushing through the Veto Competition, and providing ample time to reveal the Power of Veto results. Nothing needs to bleed over into the Thursday night eviction episodes any longer. That’s a good thing. Big Brother fans hate cliffhangers.
Evictions will remain on Thursdays, which is where a new incarnation of the AI Arena will help keep things interesting. The producers will reveal how that works with the latest theme during the coming weeks. Getting a new version of the AI Arena could be a fun experience.
Many Big Brother fans believe they have guessed the theme for BB27, and that host Julie Chen Moonves is teasing it through her social media activity. Are they right? We shall see!
As for the other weekly episodes, Sundays and Thursdays will remain at 60 minutes each, but fans will also get to enjoy Friday night episodes for BB27. The Friday night content will feature All-Stars, and it is called Big Brother: Unlocked. Fingers crossed for All-Stars we love to see.

Here’s the July episode schedule for BB27. It’s going to be an exciting summer packed with episodes, and it all begins on Thursday, July 10. It won’t be a two-day event like some recent seasons have been, but it will be fun getting to know the BB27 cast members.
There is some possible bad news: the BB27 season might be a short one. Online clues suggest that, despite the season starting earlier than usual, it may also end early, allowing Survivor 49 and The Amazing Race 38 to take over on Wednesdays in the fall.
