Survivor winner calls Tribal Council ‘boring’ and proposes changes

Survivor legend Tyson Apostol has some ideas to improve the show. In particular, he wants to change how the Tribal Council is conducted because he finds it “boring” now.

Tyson won Survivor: Blood vs. Water. He also appeared on Survivor: Tocantins, Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains, and Survivor: Winners at War. The four-time player now co-hosts a podcast about the show.

The Pod Has Spoken features Tyson Apostol and Riley McAtee discussing everything about Survivor. They welcome back former players, speak with new guests on the show, and debate weekly topics.

Anyone who watched Tyson play the game knows what to expect. He is often brutally honest with his opinions about the game, sometimes leading to some controversial takes.

But he might be right that the Tribal Councils could be more exciting in future seasons.

Survivor winner Tyson Apostol: ‘I want Tribal Councils to change’

Recently, Tyson broached the topic of Tribal Council excitement.

“Let’s spice these tribal councils up! What do you think?!” Tyson captioned a clip from the video.

“I want Tribal Councils to change. They’re boring,” Tyson began.

“Let’s just make it a continuation of the scramble. Let’s have Jeff [Probst] twist whatever knige he needs to twist to be the catalyst to get everyone to start going,” Tyson stated to an audible reaction from his co-host.

“Like that should be Jeff’s goal in the Tribal Council is ramp that s**t up. Make people say things they regret saying. Make people play the game in that moment, because I do to Tribal Council, I’m giving veiled answers. I’m trying to mask what lines are lines. Everyone’s doing the same. You’re trying to hide this and that,” Tyson elaborated.

“Jeff has these things. People come out with their, you know, kangaroo vs space metaphors. Stop,” Tyson noted as his co-hosts chimed in about stopping the metaphors.

But he wasn’t done yet.

“Force people to scramble,” Tyson added.

View the full clip of Tyson’s ideas below. He certainly broaches an important topic. Making the Tribal Council more exciting could lead to drama at future points of the game. Maybe he is onto something here.
