It’s been a contentious couple of years for Nigerian 90 Day Fiance star Michael Ilesanmi, but now, he’s free from Angela Deem forever.
The 36-year-old reality star posted from Angela’s hometown of Hazelhurst, Georgia, to appear in court. After the hearing, Michael headed outside, papers in hand, to celebrate the good news.
“Official Divorced!!” Michael wrote over the video of himself smiling from ear to ear as he thanked “everyone for their love and support.”
Near the end of his message, Michael said, “Single Life here I come!” which makes us wonder if he’s teasing a return to the 90 Day Fiance franchise that made him famous or if he just means that he’s single now and looking forward to it.
In the caption, he wrote, “Finally official — divorced. Thank you to everyone who supported me along the way. I appreciate you all. 🙏 New chapter begins.#peace #thankful”
Angela did not post a divorce update. She did, however, repost this “Meemaw gone wild” repost from 90 Day Fiance Update the night before the court date.
It’s been over 2 years since Michael Ilesanmi fled from Angela Deem
Michael came to the US from Nigeria in December 2023 to reunite with Angela after years of waiting for approval of his spousal visa. However, their reunion was short-lived because Michael fled Angela’s Hazelhurst home in February 2024 after he accused the boisterous reality star of both mental and physical abuse.
Initially, Angela reported Michael missing, but when it became apparent that he had actually fled her home, she filed for annulment of their marriage, claiming that he had defrauded her. Clearly, that didn’t work out in her favor, and soon after, Michael started a GoFundMe, asking for help to properly divorce Angela.
Donations quickly exceeded the $25,000 goal, with reports claiming that he ended up getting more than $52,000.
