Big Brother 27 could be a shorter season

Big Brother returns with a brand-new season on CBS this summer.

The season premiere arrives on Thursday, July 10.

Big Brother fans will enjoy a 90-minute premiere episode that introduces the new players.

Then, the regular schedule of Sunday, Wednesday, and Thursday night episodes begins.

CBS also announced that there will be Friday night episodes this summer.

The new installments are called Big Brother: Unlocked and feature All-Stars from the past.

Did the Big Brother 27 season finale date get leaked?

A watch party for the Big Brother 27 season finale has been announced online.

Azah Awasum from BB23 returns to host another party, and the date for her big event has been released.

She was part of the Cookout alliance that controlled her season, and Azah finished in third place behind BB23 winner Xavier Prather and runner-up Derek Frazier.

According to the advertisement, Azah’s party is scheduled to take place in Hollywood on Sunday, September 28.

How long is the new BB season?

With a premiere date of July 10 and a finale date of September 28, that would be an 81-day season. That would make BB27 much shorter than recent installments.

The houseguests may begin playing the game a few days before the season premiere, adding to the day count, but also indicating a pre-taped premiere night.

Many Big Brother seasons have had the houseguests report for duty before premiere night, allowing the producers extra time to record and edit the first few episodes.

Live move-ins are a rarity, so it shouldn’t be surprising if the BB27 cast doesn’t get a live move-in episode.

Under all of these possibilities, the new BB season would be 80-something days. That sounds like an excellent length for CBS and its viewers, as the 100-day season felt like it was dragging at points.

This would also clear the way for new seasons of Survivor and The Amazing Race to begin airing on Wednesday, October 1.

More news from the world of Big Brother

As indicated above, it’s a brand-new season of Big Brother this summer. That includes a brand-new group of houseguests for Big Brother 27.

Julie Chen Moonves returns as the host, and she has been using social media to tease fans and create buzz for the show. It has worked, and some fans are convinced they figured out the Big Brother 27 theme.

Here’s the July TV schedule for BB27. It includes the first (special) Friday night installment, the 90-minute premiere, and extended Wednesday night content.
