Big Brother 28, Episode 17 recap: A new HOH with a big plan

A new episode of Big Brother 28 aired on Sunday night.

We got an episode of Big Brother: Unlocked on Friday, but this one flashed back to immediately after Lyric’s eviction.

As a reminder, Haley was the former Head of Household, and she wanted Taylor out. When Taylor won the Power of Veto, Haley tried to shift, and she really wanted Melody out.

Lyric went home on an 8-3 vote, leaving just 13 people left in the game.

Big Brother 28, Episode 17 recap

It was chaos after the Eviction Ceremony.

Kamu, Yash, Chuk, Dee, and Angela all said they voted to evict Lyric. Only Yash, Kamu, and Chuk did.

The Toolshed alliance was dead. Haley spoke in a Diary Room session about being confused.

Haley didn’t know who was lying (it was Dee and Angela).

Angela spoke in her Diary Room session about lying to Haley. She was proud of herself.

Meanwhile, Melody was off crying that she survived the night. She was also missing her friend (Lyric).

Past footage (which we already saw on Big Brother: Unlocked) showed Dee and Devens’ plan to flip the vote.

Using the same footage is starting to make Unlocked seem like a waste of time to many viewers.

But back to the “new” episode, where Dee and Devens convinced Angela to join the plan to save Drew and Melody, and vote out Lyric.

Devens brought on Barrett and Mallory to the plan. Devens later approached Taylor about it.

Taylor went to La Trice about the plan. Dee continued lying. As a reminder, the vote was 8-3 against Lyric.

Dee loved that Haley, Kamu, and Chuk were doubting their own alliances.

Melody loved that Haley would finally see “a hard week” after complaining all season.

Of course, Drew enjoyed that the script was flipped on Haley, Kamu, and Chuk.

La Trice pretended to be confused when she was approached. She joked about it in the Diary Room.

But Haley was really confused. And she was gaslighted by Dee and Angela. So was Chuk.

A new Head of Household Competition

It was time for an Endurance Challenge. They traveled to 1987 to play the Wall Competition.

Everything (other than Haley) was perched on a platform attached to a wall. The objective was to be the last person standing as the wall moved, water rained down, and stuff was sprayed at them.

Angela was out in 28 seconds.

The other 11 players all made it past 30 minutes.

Taylor, Barrett, Devens, and Dee were out next (in order).

Melody fell after slightly more than an hour.

Mallory, Chuk, Yash, and Drew were the next three people out (in order).

Kamu and La Trice became the final two.

Kamu fell. La Trice is the new Head of Household.

Who went inside the Time Capsule?

Mallory won the BB28 Fan Vote. She got to compete for a power or punishment.

Mallory got a costume punishment.

This wasn’t just any punishment; she had to be tethered to someone else.

Mallory got the Adam & Eve Punishment. She chose Melody to join her. Below is an image of their predicament.

A plan and the Big Brother nominations

La Trice sat with Taylor to chat. La Trice wanted Devens out. Taylor shifted it to Haley.

La Trice agreed that Haley needed to go home. Then she thought about Barrett and/or Drew as pawns.

At first, La Trice planned to nominate Kamu, Drew, and Barrett. Her main target was Haley in a re-nom.

Kamu and Taylor chatted. He really didn’t want to be on the block. She wanted to save him. Kamu also said Chuk would turn on La Trice. Kamu turned on Chuk to save himself.

Taylor went to La Trice. They worked out a new plan. She agreed that they couldn’t trust Chuk.

Kamu later confirmed that story to La Trice. He also said he was distancing himself from Haley and Chuk.

At the Nomination Ceremony, La Trice went with Haley, Chuk, and Barrett. Haley is the target. Barrett is the pawn.

More tea from the Big Brother 2026 season

Here is a link to all the latest BB28 spoilers, including the Power of Veto winner. The hamsters have been busy!

Johnny Bananas from The Challenge shaded Dee’s Big Brother play. It wasn’t surprising after their showmance ended.

Also, Frankie Grande responded to Kamu’s request to be set up with his sister. Instead of a date, he provided some shade.

Elsewhere, a Big Brother winner wants to “smear” spicy food “in Kamu’s face” now. It was a hot topic on social media.
