The new Big Brother episode began with a long recap of Yash’s week as HOH.
Yash nominated Dee, Angela, and Haley. Then, Yash also won the Power of Veto.
Yash felt pretty good, and he chose not to use the Power of Veto. But Devens stood up and used his Diamond Power of Veto.
Devens saved Dee and named Kamu the replacement nominee. Later, Angela won the BB Blockbuster, and Kamu was sent home.
Recap of the supersized episode of Big Brother 28 from August 23
The night began with the houseguests saying goodbye to Kamu.
Yash had the first Diary Room session and noted how badly his week in charge had gone.
La Trice cried after she was the only one to vote for Kamu to stay.
Haley said she was “shocked” to survive the vote. She was also “nervous” for the coming week.
Devens was excited about saving Dee and also getting Kamu out.
Melody and Mallory felt bad about leaving La Trice out of the vote. They had warned Taylor and Yash about what was coming.
It was then time to go to the Big Brother: Unlocked stage. The panelists were there to speak about the show.
Big Brother: Unlocked from August 23
Danielle Reyes from Big Brother: All-Stars and The Traitors joined the panelists.
She was excited to speak about Angela winning the BB Blockbuster.
Then, we got a secret scene of La Trice interrogating Angela while Taylor was nearby to hear the answers. Taylor got upset with her because she thought it would ruin their games.
Another “missing moment” bonus scene featured La Trice apologizing to Haley about getting upset with her and ignoring her. It led to Haley accusing La Trice of bullying her. La Trice wasn’t having it. They ended up calling each other bullies as Haley stormed off. La Trice asked her for proof right before that, but Haley didn’t provide any.
Derrick Levasseur said that he feels people are throwing around the word “bully” too much.
They also showed a scene of Mallory and Melody speaking about keeping Kamu, but Drew talked them down.
Unlocked speaks with Kamu Kirk from Big Brother 28
Kamu was frustrated that a power from many years ago (he claimed) was the only reason he lost. The panelists joked about how he had lost to two women over 50 in challenges.
He also explained his game to the panelists, as they showed some footage from the house he hadn’t seen yet. It broke down why the game went in that direction. The footage included Devens speaking to the cameras about his plans, and then the forming of the Mosh Pit alliance (Devens, Dee, Angela, Barrett, Drew, Melody, and Mallory).
This served as a transition to a video of the houseguests complaining about smells in the Big Brother house.
This week’s family visit was centered on Dee. They showed her brother Ozzy, Dee’s best friends, and more of her family.
Paul Abrahamian from BB18 and BB19 also joined the panelists on stage. It was a teaser for the HOH Competition he was hosting for BB28.
They also showed some behind-the-scenes on how the OTEV Competition is constructed.
Unlocked ended by revealing that Drew won the final BB28 Fan Vote.
It was time to finally transition to the new Sunday night episode of Big Brother.
Big Brother 28, Episode 23 recap
Angela celebrated to open the new episode. She was glad Kamu was gone and very excited about winning the BB Blockbuster Challenge.
Mallory was happy about Kamu going home, but she felt guilty about lying to Yash and Taylor.
La Trice was taking it very hard.
Yash was upset at Barrett and Drew, but said he understood what Mallory and Melody did (turned on Kamu).
Yash also revealed to the ladies he had a final-two alliance with Drew (he did).
“I am feeling pretty stuck in the middle,” Melody said in the DR.
Who is the new HOH on Big Brother 28?
After a commercial break, Paul from BB18, BB19, and House of Villains showed up to host the HOH Competition.
This one was the balance beam challenge. Each player had to run a balance beam course and hit buttons. The player with the fastest time would become the new HOH.
Below is the list of players and the times they posted (in order):
- Haley: 1 minute.
- Angela timed out.
- Drew did it in 59 seconds.
- La Trice timed out.
- Taylor timed out.
- Dee did it in 50 seconds.
- Mallory timed out.
- Devens timed out.
- Barrett timed out (he says he threw it and was indeed moving slowly).
- Melody also timed out and, in a DR, said she wasn’t trying.
Dee Valladares won her second HOH Competition of the summer.
Drew was happy, and Taylor was pretty upset about the results.
Taylor and La Trice were worried. It was brought up that they should play “nasty” now. Taylor said she had been too nice, and she was about to take the game down into the gutter.
Dee went to La Trice and asked her about the group that had been targeting her. This was from the meeting La Trice led. She immediately pushed Drew into the fire, causing Dee to really second-guess anything with him.
Dee said she couldn’t fully trust Drew in a DR, and it looked like she was ready to go in a specific direction.
Working our way toward the Big Brother Nomination Ceremony
“People should be scared,” Dee said in the Diary Room. “Because I am coming for blood.”
Drew felt safe and called his week ahead “smooth sailing for your boy” during a DR moment.
Yash felt “cooked” after he nominated Dee the previous week.
“Thank goodness we didn’t go against the Mosh Pit for the Kamu vote,” Melody stated in the DR.
Devens congratulated Dee, “You crushed it.”
Dee said she really wanted “to backdoor Yash” during the week. She was ready to nominate Taylor, La Trice, and Yash. Devens was on board.
Time for a BB Bribe from Dee
Dee went to Yash. He caused her to trust Drew even less. But then she whipped out the coin used for the BB Bribe.
Yash took the $5,000 in exchange for protecting Dee, Devens, and Angela if he becomes HOH. It’s binding. So if he wins HOH, he cannot nominate any of the icons.
Dee also promised safety if he accepted the deal, but her promise isn’t binding. The icons were surprised that Yash took the deal.
Later, Dee called out Drew in front of Yash. It seemed unnecessary, as Drew has done nothing but protect Dee and feed her information.
Yash lied more about Drew, but Drew didn’t know how to respond. He did know that he made himself look more suspicious.
Drew enters the BB28 Time Capsule
Drew learned that he won the final BB28 Fan Vote.
This gave Drew a chance to win a power or get a punishment.
Drew did very well in the Time Capsule, and he won a power.
But this may be the worst power. Drew won the Never-Not Pass. It means he doesn’t have to be a Have-Not for the rest of the summer. It’s not what he needs while his game is on the line.
Who did Dee nominate for eviction on Big Brother 28?
Dee nominated La Trice, Taylor, and Drew.
This was despite Drew trying to prove himself to Dee. But she is now friends with Haley and doesn’t want to nominate Yash due to the BB Bribe.
