More Big Brother is on the way.
Fresh off Rick Devens winning BB28, CBS has announced two new seasons.
This is huge news. And also unsurprising after the ratings surge.
Even though some fans really disliked BB28, the show saw a nice boost in viewership.
The ratings increase could also hint at more stunt casting in the near future.
Having two Survivor legends play Big Brother was a win for the network.
Big Brother 29 and Big Brother 30 announced
“Big Brother will return for two more summers, [with CBS] renewing the series through Season 30,” a new press release states.
The show “delivered 14.8 billion minutes watched, up +9% from last summer; averaged 5.1 million viewers in seven-day multiplatform viewing, up +8% year-over-year.”
Those are big numbers. People also talked about the show on social media all summer. That helped propel the numbers even more.
Fans watched the show hit some huge milestones in Summer 2026.
Big Brother “became the first primetime series ever to reach 1,000 original episodes; earned two Guinness World Records titles; and featured 52+ hours of original programming, the most in the franchise’s 26-year history.”
Julie also teased the new seasons during her closing remarks on BB28.
Applications are also already open through the online portal.
Potential houseguests can apply now to be on the Big Brother 29 cast.
As for Big Brother 30, we think that season could be something special. Is it time for the All-Stars theme again? Is it even possible to do an All-Stars season without pregaming ruining it all? Stay tuned on that front.
More reality TV shows on CBS
Survivor and The Amazing Race have taken over Wednesday nights. CBS viewers can watch three hours of the shows each week, with previous episodes streaming on Paramount+.
We also hope something happens this winter for Big Brother fans. Maybe a new Celebrity Big Brother or Reindeer Games to tide us over? That would be fun during the long winter months.
If you can’t get enough of Rick Devens, here is a new video that has been shared online:
