Big Brother: Unlocked debuted on Friday night. The July 10 episode was the first installment for Season 2 of the companion show.
Some fans tune out the bonus show because it has mostly served as a recap of what’s been happening in the house. This year, however, the producers plan to use it to share new information about BB28.
Will more viewers tune in to Unlocked this summer? We shall see, but it’s certainly possible if the producers continue to make it more entertaining.
But back to the premiere episode, which arrived at 8/7c on Friday, July 10. If you missed it live, you can stream it on Paramount+.
Big Brother: Unlocked Season 2, Episode 1 recap
This year’s hosts (panelists) are BB16 winner Derrick Levasseur, BB24 winner Taylor Hale, and actor Jerry O’Connell. They welcomed a “live” studio audience for the premiere. It certainly makes the show more interesting.
Unlocked began with a recap of the first BB28 episode. Later, Jerry came on stage to join Taylor and Derrick. He teased what was coming during the hour. That includes the Live Feeds turning on.
A “Missed Moment” was shown. In it, Taylor Brown felt that Rick Devens slighted her by not saying hello to her on move-in day. She went off on her own to recalibrate, and it became a talking point on Unlocked.
The hosts showed Rachel getting pushed into the volcano again. Jerry came up with the idea of using the time machine to save Rachel in the past.
Rachel is now safe. Whew. She then joined the panelists to speak about the new season.
A segment showed what Angela Murray has been up to since leaving the BB26 house. Reality TV fans likely already know she was on The Amazing Race with her daughter. Angela claims she will play a “different game” and play “smarter” on her road to winning.
Dee Valladares and Rick Devens also had clip packages.
Later, Cirie Fields shared tips for her fellow Survivor alums. Cirie was on BB25 with her son, Jared Fields.
Big Brother: Unlocked Fan Vote and more
Each week (for six weeks), fans will vote for someone in the house to win a Time Capsule.
America will impact the game every week this summer. The winner of each vote will get a power or a punishment based on how they do in a challenge. Those punishments and powers have ties to past seasons.
It could be fun to see how this plays out!
Each houseguest can only win it once. Voting is done on the BB page for Paramount+. July 19 is when the first winner will be announced.
The hosts were then asked to make predictions about the season. They wrote them down to review later this summer.
They also showed the beginning of the first HOH Competition. It was still going when the episode was over. We can see what happens next during the Sunday night episode (July 12).
Also, here is a link to spoilers about the HOH Competition. We already know who is in power.
