Big Brother: Unlocked rolled out in the summer of 2025. Serving as a companion show for Big Brother 27, while providing extra footage and insight about the season.
Airing on Friday nights, Big Brother: Unlocked had familiar faces hosting and celebrities guest-starring. Derrick Levasseur (BB16 winner) and Taylor Hale (BB24 winner) controlled the reins, with Chelsie Baham (BB26 winner) and Britney Haynes (three-time BB player) providing special segments.
Celebrities like Superman director James Gunn, Lance Bass from *NSYNC, and actor Bobby Moynihan popped by to share their thoughts. Each one offered something new and fresh to fans watching these bonus episodes.
We loved it here at Tea on TV and thought it added more depth to BB27.
Will Big Brother: Unlocked Season 2 happen?
EW asked executive producers Rich Meehan and Allison Grodner about the return of the Big Brother spin-off show. They view the show positively and would like it to return for Big Brother 28.
“We haven’t heard officially. We hope that it continues on. It’s a fun extension of the show,” Meehan told EW.
“It will evolve and get better the more we do it. Taylor and Derrick were great, and we had some really fun guests, so that’s something we’d like to continue doing and evolving, so hopefully it will come back,” he elaborated.
“Overall, we were really happy with it. It seemed to be well received, and people came to watch,” Grodner added.
Ratings were a mixed bag for the Friday night show, but many viewers discussed the episodes on social media. That helped create buzz for BB27, which scored some good numbers on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
Below is a video clip from James Gunn visiting the set. Apparently, Taylor Hale got him to appear on the episode. As previously reported by Tea on TV, it was a nice surprise to tune in and see the head of DC guest-starring on the show.
