Chicago Fire cast: Who is the new chief?

The Chicago Fire cast has a big change in store for viewers.

Recently, Chief Dom Pascal was fired. He had pushed the brass too hard and disobeyed too many direct orders.

Actor Dermot Mulroney had been a great addition to the cast, and he had big shoes to fill when Eamonn Walker left the show.

Pascal took some getting used to, but he proved to be as good on the job as his predecessor, Wallace Boden.

While Boden got promoted out of Firehouse 51, Pascal was shown the door. Could we see Pascal again later? Possibly. But not anytime soon.

Who is the new chief on the Chicago Fire cast?

Actor Rob Morgan joins the Chicago Fire cast as Battalion Chief Hopkins.

The character oversees many firehouses, and he won’t be housed at Firehouse 51.

This does clear a path for Kelly Severide to take Pascal’s old office, but he will certainly have Morgan looking over his shoulder.

Who is Rob Morgan on Chicago Fire?

Rob Morgan has an extensive acting history. He recently starred as Magic Johnson’s father in Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty.

Netflix viewers also saw him on Stranger Things for years. He started as Officer Powell, working for Jim Hopper (played by David Harbour). Later, Powell became the chief.

Before that, he appeared on various Marvel shows for Netflix. He was on Daredevil, The Defenders, Iron Fist, Jessica Jones, and Luke Cage as Turk Barrett.

Will Kelly Severide and Chief Hopkins be at odds?

Chicago Fire released a promo for the first episode featuring Chief Hopkins.

That episode debuts on Wednesday, April 1.

“Severide is forced to overcome obstacles at the firehouse; Cruz finds himself at a loss amid the new changes in his family,” reads the full synopsis.

The footage features Severide being ready to step up, and Chief Hopkins stopping by the firehouse. Drama might ensue. But drama always seems to happen between Severide and the new guy.
