Last night was a big night for Dancing with the Stars celebrities and fans alike. After everyone competing was safe for the first week, two dancing pairs went home in the second week.
It was One Hit Wonders Night, and all the dancers delivered really decent dances. Season 34 has been jam-packed with talent. Though there are some very obvious frontrunners (we’re looking at you, Robert Irwin and Jordan Chiles), it was anyone’s guess who might end up going home first.
Carrie Ann Inaba was back and she was ready with plenty of feedback and praise for all the dancers.
It turns out that the first two stars to go home on Season 34 of Dancing with the Stars were Corey Feldman and his partner Jenna Johnson and Baron Davis and his partner Britt Stewart.
Dancing with the Stars viewers weren’t mad about Corey Feldman’s elimination
As with any elimination, Dancing with the Stars viewers were quick to share their feelings on social media and there was a range of emotions after the names were called.
Many seemed relieved that Corey Feldman was on his way out after what felt like two very awkward dances. He hit his moves, and the performances weren’t bad, but they certainly weren’t showstopping.
There was also the issue that Jenna Johnson claimed Corey was a no-show for several practices, and Maks Chmerkovskiy said she was really struggling to work with the former child actor.
Ahead of their performance, Corey lamented about having the lowest score last week and hoped to do better this week. That didn’t happen. There was also footage of Corey walking off stage at the end of the show as all the other stars and their dancing pro partners stuck around to say goodbye. Was it a case of sour grapes?
When it came to DWTS viewers, their approval of this elimination has been overwhelming. One shared on X, “i knew right from the second Corey Feldman was on DWTS, he was gonna get booted off. i was right.”
Another wrote, “Sooo glad Corey Feldman got voted off DWTS last night I can’t stand him and ALL HAIL ANDY RICHTER.”
A third commenter did not like Corey’s One Hit Wonders Night dance. They wrote, “Corey Feldman’s ‘dance’…”
Baron Davis’ elimination took DWTS fans by surprise
The response to Baron Davis getting sent home went a bit differently. That’s not a big surprise though his elimination was. When they were paired up, Britt Stewart even said she was excited to work with him since athletes historically have done well in the dance competition.
Baron wasn’t nearly as nimble as some who have come before him though. Honestly, he looked very out of place on the dance floor but he still had a lot of viewers rooting for him as they thought he’d improve with more time. Unfortunately, his time was up on Tuesday night.
“GUYS. NO. HILARIA SHOULDVE WENT NOT BARON,” one DWTS viewer wrote.
Another shared a GIF of a crying chihuahua and wrote, “Baron said he wanted to be the one who gave Britt her fist well deserved mirrorball #DWTS“
Yet another wrote, “they didn’t get you king but i did. justice for Baron.”
On to next week where the remaining 12 DWTS pairs will take on TikTok Night.
Dancing with the Stars airs on Tuesdays at 8/7c on ABC.
