When he was 15, the world found out about his eldest brother, Josh Duggar, and the crimes he committed against the Duggar sisters. From there, more devastating news about his life was revealed. It led to his being sentenced to over 12 years in federal prison.
Now, it’s time for Joseph Duggar to face the music with his charges, which involve a minor. This time, Jason wasn’t going to stay silent.
Instead of ignoring what is happening within his family, Jason and his wife, Maddie Grace Jones, issued a joint statement.
It wasn’t the typical “we are praying for the victim” write-up, either.

News about Joseph Duggar’s arrest broke last week, and since then, the majority of the Duggars have remained silent.
Jason Duggar and his wife, Maddie Grace Jones, issued a joint statement on their respective Instagram accounts. It wasn’t just added to a 24-hour Story.
In it, the couple talked about the “evil actions” and focused on the impact that Joseph’s actions had on the victims and his children.
It reads, in part, “We are disgusted to hear the news about my brother, however, this isn’t about how it’s impacted our lives.”
The couple took the time to address how the victim was affected and stood firm in their belief that the innocent must be protected. Jason chose very strong words, and it was likely not reviewed by Jim Bob before being shared.
No mention of Kendra Caldwell
One of the most interesting parts of Jason Duggar’s statement was that there wasn’t a mention of Kendra Caldwell, Joseph Duggar’s wife.
She was recently charged with four counts of endangering the welfare of a minor and four counts of false imprisonment. It is one count per child she shares with Joseph.
Details about Kendra and what prompted her arrest are still unclear. However, something is brewing: Jessa Duggar initially shared a statement about the family coming together to support Kendra and the kids, but took it down shortly after. Luckily, Tea on TV took a screenshot before it disappeared forever.
Jason and Maddie didn’t mince words. It took them a week to release a statement and process what was happening around them.
