Jessa Duggar isn’t a stranger to criticism.
Her family was in the public eye for over a decade before TLC finally cut ties with the Duggars for good.
She announced her sixth pregnancy earlier this year, and the comments received online varied.
While many were happy for the former reality TV star, others questioned her decision to continue growing her family and whether this baby would be her last.
The Counting On star will move into second place for most kids among the Duggar siblings, with Josh and Anna Duggar beating her out by one child. They have seven children, and won’t have more as he is currently in federal prison on CSAM (Child Sexual Abuse Material) charges.
However, the comments don’t get Jessa down. She spoke about the “unnecessary” comments while updating her followers.
Jessa Duggar addresses comments about her family size
Jessa Duggar has been infrequent with her social media posts.
She has stepped back significantly since her other siblings married and began growing their families.
However, Jessa recently shared a YouTube video talking about her sixth pregnancy.
With that, she addressed “unnecessary” comments she received online and confirmed that none of it has been said to her face. We don’t fully believe that’s the case, but because of her circle, it could be.
One of the most commented on topics is whether Jessa plans to follow in her mom, Michelle Duggar’s, footsteps.
She said, “I’m not going to have 19 kids, but honestly, my mom is my hero. I love her, I adore her. She is my role model in so many ways.”
Jessa continued to gush over her mom and her “patience” and “gentleness.” The Counting On star thinks Michelle is the “golden example” for motherhood.
It isn’t surprising that she feels that way, as Jessa has always followed the family’s lead and did what her parents (read Jim Bob Duggar) asked.
She has always followed the ‘rules’
Throughout her time on TV, Jessa Duggar was the dutiful daughter.
When news broke about Josh Duggar and what he did to his sisters and a family friend, she and Jill Duggar talked with Megyn Kelly and downplayed what happened to them on national TV.
She followed the playbook provided to her by her father, Jim Bob Duggar.
Jessa was also used to attempt to reel in Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard when they went “rogue.” She spent time with Jill early on in the fracture, but it appears that the Dillards are still ostracized from the family despite being invited to certain family things (for the optics).
We suspect Jessa and Ben aren’t done having children, especially given their beliefs against birth control.
Shiny Happy People: Duggar Family Secrets is currently streaming on Prime Video.
