Jessa Duggar is back doing damage control.
After initially releasing a statement about her brother, Joseph Duggar’s arrest, she quickly deleted it. However, Tea on TV captured the initial story before she took it down.
This time, she took care in what she shared. There was likely a conversation with the siblings and Jim Bob Duggar, detailing what they should and shouldn’t say.
Since the Counting On days, Jessa has been the dutiful daughter. She and Jill Duggar made the TV rounds after news about Josh Duggar inappropriately touching them and two of their other sisters was made public.
She was also used to try to bridge the gap between Jill and Derick Dillard and the Duggars. They were outing the reality of what they went through, and Jim Bob attempted damage control through Jessa.
Being the daughter nearby who follows the rules set forth by Jim Bob has placed her in a unique position.
Jessa Duggar’s new statement
On her Instagram Story, Jessa Duggar released a new story about the situation with Joseph Duggar. This time, though, she makes no mention of rallying around Kendra Caldwell.
She wrote, in part, “We learned, along with the rest of the world, of the heartbreaking news involving my brother, Joseph, and we are deeply grieved.”
The statement addressed the young girl and the harm she suffered, and Jessa went on to talk about God’s part in all of this.

Duggar family supports Kendra Caldwell
Many Duggar family members, including Jessa Duggar, are standing behind Kendra Caldwell.
Despite Jessa not mentioning Kendra in her new statement, she has been in contact with her sister-in-law. During a phone call with Joseph Duggar in jail, his wife revealed his siblings are rallying around her.
She is believed to be staying with Joy Anna Duggar and Austin Forsyth, though that hasn’t been verified. However, on Kendra’s release conditions, it said she was going to be staying in a home with three minor children.
Joseph’s wife also detailed spending time with Katelyn (Katey) Nakatsu. That is also where Jessa visited her. The women have banded together to support Kendra and the fight to get her children back. Currently, she is not allowed to see them as she awaits her day in court on four counts of false imprisonment and four counts of endangering the welfare of a minor. One count for each of her four children.
The coming weeks will reveal more about what happened with the children and what will happen when Joseph Duggar stands trial in Florida.
