Jim Bob Duggar makes cringeworthy comment as Jessa labors with sixth child

Jessa Duggar welcomed her sixth child at the end of July.

She and Ben Seewald filmed everything from the birth, including the days leading up to it, for their YouTube channel.

Earlier this year, the Counting On couple revealed they were expecting their sixth child, but did not offer a due date. Jessa marked her “halfway” point, and from there, it was believed she was due at the end of July or in early August.

July 25 was her official due date, but that came and went.

As with previous labors, Jessa and Ben headed over to the Big House to try to “walk” the baby out. She did 15 flights of stairs before deciding to rest on the couch.

While resting on the couch, Jessa got a signal that it was almost time to welcome their baby.

Jim Bob Duggar makes a gross couch comment

Jessa Duggar was on the couch resting and Facetiming Jinger Duggar when her water broke.

At that point, Jim Bob Duggar was filming, and he couldn’t help but comment, “I’ll tell you what, these couches have gone through a lot.”

The irony wasn’t lost on us, as Jessa is the queen of giving birth on couches, though this time, it was just her water breaking. However, having your father film and make a comment like that rings high on the cringeworthy moments in the Duggars’ lives.

Jessa Duggar experienced a bit of panic during labor

Following her water breaking, Jessa Duggar had a bit of a scare. She had some blood and didn’t remember feeling the baby move. When they got to the hospital, finding the heartbeat took a few minutes, but they eventually found it.

Jessa and Ben Seewald did not reveal the gender of their baby in the second part of their labor video. However, they revealed that the baby weighed a hefty 10 pounds and was 21 inches long.

We suspect the couple welcomed another baby boy, but that won’t be confirmed until they decide to share part three of the labor story.

In the video, Jessa revealed that the children went to church the Sunday after she welcomed her sixth baby. That means the baby was born on Saturday, July 26. Given the timeframe of when they announced the birth, that fits with what has been done in the past.
