Joy Behar is a firm fixture on The View, and it doesn’t appear that she will quit her gig anytime soon.
But she could add a new career to her resume if Andy Cohen from Bravo has his way!
Joy constantly finds new ways to express herself and her savvy opinions when she isn’t sitting next to Whoopi Goldberg on The View.
Now that her successful play, My First Ex-Husband, ended its Off-Broadway run, she may be setting her sights on another endeavor.
The View host recently schooled Jimmy Fallon about an email he claimed he never received from her, despite having proof, and the interaction caught Andy’s seasoned eye.
Joy’s energy in shutting down a seasoned television host like Jimmy Fallon is precisely the energy that one Real Housewives franchise needs, and Andy Cohen wants to make it happen.
Joy tells Andy ‘Let’s make a deal’
Andy shared on his Watch What Happens Live show that Joy should join The Real Housewives of New York, a beleaguered show currently casting, according to PEOPLE.
Joy’s Moxy earned her his Mazel of the night, and he said, “By the way, we are actively casting the next season of RHONY, and I know one New York woman who just made the shortlist.”
Joy’s actions with Jimmy Fallon, proving that she had indeed emailed him, despite his vehement denial, resonated with Andy.
The interaction is shown below and is also available on YouTube.com.
They showed a photo of Joy Behar, and Andy urged her to join the cast of The Real Housewives of New York City. This was not just a random shout-out to Joy; Andy spoke about the idea again during another visit to The View.
Andy Cohen recently visited The View to discuss BravoCon, the exciting event that brings together Bravo celebrities and their huge fan base, and suggested that Joy join the cast again.
During the interview with Whoopi Goldberg and the others, Andy said he wanted Joy for a special role on The Real Housewives of New York, a “Grande Dame” role.
Karen Huger is famously known as the Grande Dame on The Real Housewives of Potomac, and Joy could serve in a similar capacity on a reboot of The Real Housewives of New York City.
Joy told Andy, “Let’s make a deal,” during the segment, so maybe something tangible will come to pass. It would be great to see her on a reality television show.
Joy reveals her Rhode Island roots
Andy Cohen also announced that the new The Real Housewives of Rhode Island will premiere on Bravo later in 2025.
Andy said, “And you know what, you don’t mess with folks from Rhodey. You don’t mess with them. And they are very Italian. We have found a very Italian group, and they’re hilarious. They have big families, so I’m really excited to introduce everybody.”
Joy shared that she lived in Providence, Rhode Island, for a few years, and agreed with Andy about messing with folks from “Rhodey.”
Joy would be a great addition to the Bravoverse if only the powers that be could make it happen.
The View airs weekdays at 11:00 a.m. ET/10:00 a.m. CT on ABC.
