MC reacts to Survivor twist some fans feel ‘robbed’ her in the game

On Survivor 49’s latest episode, Michelle “MC” Chukwujekwu was voted out at Tribal Council. While she has to shoulder some of the blame, as her efforts to save Jawan flipped the target to her, the episode’s twist put her in a bad spot.

With 10 people left in the game, the Survivor producers split the merged tribe into two teams for the Immunity Challenge. The winning team would be safe, while the losing team would go to Tribal Council. It meant only five people were at risk.

When the episode began, Savannah and Rizo were in danger, but that flipped when Savannah won the Immunity Challenge and gained an advantage. Her advantage was to travel to the losing team’s camp and take part in conversations. It helped create the narrative that led to MC getting voted out.

MC reacts to a fan who was upset with the ‘twist’

“Jeff saying ‘with a twist’ as if this is a new concept or something. ‘Individual portion of the game’ should mean individual immunity!!” a fan wrote on social media.

“Agreed,” MC responded to the tweet.

Many Survivor fans agreed with MC and the OP, leaving notes about how they enjoyed watching her play the game.

“I enjoyed watching you play. I love to see a strong woman kick a** in challenges and I think given another chance, you could beat the record for overall individual wins. It would be so fun to see a woman break the record set originally by Colby. I hope we see you again!” one fan wrote.

“You were so robbed,” posted someone else.

“You got completely twist screwed, so sorry icon :(( I so hope you get to play again,” echoed another Survivor fan.

Indeed, it was a bit unfair that an entire team got immunity simply because someone won what was basically an individual challenge. Plus, Sophie was very close to winning it for the other side and did far better than Savannah’s four teammates.

Had eight people been at risk instead of five, the Tribal Council could have gone much differently.

But we shall see MC again, as she is part of the Survivor 49 jury.

What did you think about MC’s elimination? Was it unfair to give five people safety during the episode? Was she “robbed” by the twist?
