One Chicago is about to take another break. Yes, it’s time for another hiatus.
Despite Med, Fire, and P.D. recently returning with the crossover event, the shows are going away again.
Hopefully, everyone enjoyed the three-show event from early March. It ended the winter hiatus, as the teams dealt with a scary situation.
And while we get (got) new episodes on March 11 and March 18, that’s going to be it until April.
Med, Fire, and P.D. go on hiatus (again)
After the March 18 episodes, One Chicago will stop airing new content until April.
The turnaround might seem quick, as it’s only two weeks. But many fans complain when the shows take mid-season breaks.
The expectation is that new episodes will arrive on April 1. That’s when Futon Critic states a new episode will air on NBC.
As a summary, we get new episodes on March 18, repeats on March 25, and then more new episodes on April 1.
Unfortunately, we are also creeping up on the season finales for the hit shows.
Approaching season finales for the One Chicago shows
NBC announced that Brilliant Minds will return on Wednesday, May 27, at 8/7c. This means the Once Chicago shows have to wrap up before then.
Med, Fire, and P.D. should end their current seasons on or before Wednesday, May 20. That’s only (roughly) two months to close out the seasons.
Big storylines coming on the One Chicago shows
As previously reported by Tea on TV, Dermot Mulroney has left the Chicago Fire cast. He had to resume filming his other hit show, The Hunting Wives.
It’s still possible that Mulroney pops in as Dom Pascal for the Chicago Fire season finale. Stay tuned on that front.
We also know that Rob Morgan joins the Chicago Fire cast as Battalion Chief Hopkins. He will appear in four episodes (not including the season finale). Hopefully, they allow Kelly Severide to be in charge for at least an episode or two.
Med and P.D. should also have big stories to tackle. And no, don’t expect more episodes featuring Tracy Spiridakos as Hailey Upton. The actress has a new show called Anna Pigeon.
More seasons for the One Chicago shows?
We are also waiting for NBC’s official announcement on renewals. We hope to hear good news about Med Season 12, P.D. Season 14, and Fire Season 15.
As a reminder, the One Chicago shows air on Wednesday nights on NBC. Previous episodes are available for streaming on Peacock.
