Rachel Reilly makes great point about Big Brother recruits

Big Brother winner Rachel Reilly shared some pointed thoughts on recruits, and she nailed it. Rachel appeared on the BB12 cast and returned to win BB13. She also got invited to play on Big Brother 27 this past summer.

As many fans have noticed, there have been lots of recruits playing Big Brother lately, but it isn’t exactly a new thing for the reality competition show. At the same time, some of those recruits are playing the game really badly.

The Big Brother producers use recruits to improve the show. Whereas many people apply to be on Big Brother, the producers often recruit people with big personalities or attributes that will work well on television. Recruits also tend to have big social media followings.

Morgan Pope, Ava Pearl, and Keanu Soto were all recruits. Kelley Jorgensen, Zach Cornell, and possibly Katherine Woodman were also recruits on the BB27 cast.

Rachel Reilly speaks about Big Brother recruits

During a recent podcast episode of Rob Has A Podcast (RHAP), Rachel touched on recruits not understanding how to play the game. It echoed the frustrations she had with Keanu Soto while in the BB27 house.

“Rachel whacking recruits that do NO homework before going on the show… exactly #bb27,” the caption for a video clip reads.

In the video, Rachel shares how frustrated she is that many recruits don’t watch more Big Brother episodes before they play the game.

“How these people did not… like, you’re getting cast on a show. You’re agreeing to it; you’re going through this process, Rachel told Taran Armstrong.”

“You’re signing thousands of pages of paperwork and yet you’re not watching the show every single day?” she posited.

“Like, what is wrong? $750,000. I don’t get it,” Rachel added.

“It wasn’t TikToked enough,” Taran joked.

So what do you think? Do you believe Recruits help or harm Big Brother? Should they do a season with only fans and no recruits?
