Sage Ahrens-Nichols has accused many people of cheating on Survivor 49. The second runner-up from the latest season has also started naming those players.
According to Sage, at least six people cheated. That’s basically 30 percent of the 20 people who were prepping to play the game.
Two people were kicked off the show before filming even began. It forced the producers to use the two alternates as players.
“I cannot think of a time we have ever pulled somebody for violating our pre-game rule policy of not talking to other players,” Survivor host Jeff Probst told TV Insider at the time the two people were kicked off in the Survivor 49 preseason.
“I’m sure over the years we’ve had people push the envelope a bit, and then our casting team will step in and say, ‘Hey, we know it’s difficult, but just remember you can’t talk until the game starts. And that’s when you’re in front of Jeff.’ This was very different. This was blatant disrespect for the casting team,” Jeff continued.
But Sage claimed that at least four more people participated in cheating by planning and strategizing before the game began.
Earlier, Sage stated, “As some people know, I was the alternate for season 47. So I got the unique experience of being able to compare pre-game for 47 and for 49.”
“Talking during 47 pre-game was a 2/10 tops (with ’10’ being the worst ever). Talking during 49 pre-game was a 9.99999/10. It was insane and caused our game to actually start during pre-game (and absolutely influenced dynamics within our game),” Sage continued.
Now she has returned to name the players she has accused of cheating.
Sage names players she says cheated on Survivor 49
For Survivor, players are sequestered in an area they call Tent City. They are instructed not to chat with each other and are certainly forbidden from strategizing about the game. Chatting about the game can get you booted, and that’s what happened to two people in the pre-season.
Sage has now claimed that Sophi Balerdi and Jake Latimer also cheated. Sophi finished as the runner-up, and Jake was the player who got bitten by a snake.
“This was originally 90 minutes long, so be grateful for the condensed 47 minutes version! The same people who will scold me for it being long are the same people who would bombard me with the FAQs I address in here. Anyway, enjoy this while it stays up, bye,” Sage captioned her video.
In the extensive new video, Sage gets into everything about her accusations, including why she has been making videos. She also stated that she will be taking a break after this latest video due to suffering burnout from the season, and that she turned off the comments on purpose because she’s not looking for feedback.
As for the two people who got removed, Sage says that it was Kristina Mills who spoke up about the pre-gaming when she heard they were planning to target her. Sage thanked Kristina for standing up for the rest of the cast.
Regarding Sophi and Jake, Sage accused them of meeting up at night with other castaways (secretly) and chatting about game moves. She said they had additional conversations during media days, where they were traveling on boats.
Even though she did reveal some names, Sage also implored her fans not to attack them on social media.
More from Sage on Survivor 49 pre-gaming
As for why Sage didn’t reveal all the names, she explained that in the video as well.
She stated that one person she feels has demonstrated a willingness to grow after the season.
The other person she learned about from another castaway. She didn’t feel comfortable revealing that name since her information was second-hand. And Sage says several people reached out to her to confirm the pre-gaming by that person.
Going back to Jake, Sage says that he has been reaching out to people to try to downplay what he did. She also had a message for him in the video.
Sage has a message for Jake on Survivor 49
“Jake, if you message me with threats or send people to message me with threats. I don’t want to release this other stuff on you… If you take that approach, which I fear that you might, it will put me in a position where I’ll have to release more information, and I don’t want to do that,” Saged told Jake in the video.
“I want to give you this opportunity to take accountability for the pregaming, and maybe, maybe that helps you to pause and reflect on your actions as a whole, so that you course correct some things,” Sage also stated to Jake.
“I think that everybody has the ability and capacity to be a better human. And I’m not saying that you’re a s**t human. I am saying that you did some s****y things,” she added.
Sage also added that she felt awful for the people who were negatively impacted by the pre-gaming. And she hopes that her videos cause people to take accountability.
