Survivor 50: Jenna hilariously devoured ‘therapeutic’ cake with her hands

Survivor 50 was a short ride for Jenna Lewis-Dougherty. She was the first person voted off the new season.

One of the OGs, she returned for the latest season, immediately targeting Cirie Fields for elimination.

It’s hard to blame her. Cirie was terrible in the first Immunity Challenge. She put her team at a huge disadvantage and wouldn’t listen to suggestions about her part of the challenge.

Back at camp, Jenna didn’t have an ally like Cirie did with Ozzy Lusth. Ozzy went to bat for Cirie with the rest of their tribe, and the tide was turned against Jenna.

Of course, Jenna has known about her first episode elimination for many months. Having to wait around to see herself voted out first had to be tough.

Jenna drowns her Survivor sorrows in cake

Jenna posted on social media before, during, and after the February 25 episode. It gave her fans a unique look behind the curtain. That was even more evident as the night ended.

“When you watch yourself get voted out…smash some red velvet cake on the floor of hotel bathroom floor. It heals a tiny bit of the trauma of it. #Survivor50 #Survivor #caketherapy,” Jenna wrote on Instagram.

She shared a solo video in her hotel room, where some tasty cake became the main attraction.

“This is how you destroy cake after you watch yourself get voted out,” Jenna states before taking a huge bite of cake with her hands. “This is therapeutic.”

Many Survivor alums shared their support of Jenna in the comments.

“Yes my beautiful Queen. You ate and that red velvet was so damn good. My slice went in about 5 minutes but I did use a fork ❤️,” wrote two-time Survivor winner Sandra Diaz-Twine.

“I had no forks left to give,” Jenna responded.

“Gone to soon but still iconic,” posted Survivor alum Tiffany Seely.

“Ughhhh I was so sad when I heard you were voted out. All my pre-game press I said I wanted to work with you and then I never even got to play with you. BUT THEN I met you in real life, and REAL LIFE is what counts. I learned that you are this vibrant incredible caring sweet wonderful beautiful person who is CRUSHING LIFE. Girl, you won. Love you ❤️,” Chrissy Hofbeck from Survivor 50 also wrote.

“Chrissy, you are amazing!! Thank you for the support and love, and yes, real life is what is important and that’s pretty great!” Jenna responded to Chrissy.

More from Survivor and beyond

Unfortunately, that’s it for Jenna on Survivor 50, but we will see her again at the live Reunion Show for finale night.

New episodes air Wednesday nights at 8/7c on CBS.

Elsewhere, Survivor alums are on the cast for The Challenge 42. A new season is filming in Thailand.
