Survivor 50 player worried about pre-gaming: Should fans be worried too?

A Survivor 50 player came forward with their concerns about pre-gaming. It raises interesting questions about how worried fans should be about a fairly played season.

First off, let’s dive into what pre-gaming entails. In this example, pre-gaming would be players agreeing to alliances or partnerships before the season began.

With Survivor seasons based on returning players, it’s almost impossible to keep people from chatting. Yes, it can ruin the game if too many alliances are formed before filming begins.

Is it cheating to pre-game? Fans are split on that debate. It’s hard to fault former players who are already friends with people on Survivor 50. But where is the line?

Savannah Louie worried about Survivor 50 pre-gaming

Savannah Louie won Survivor 49. She then had less than two weeks at home before heading back to Fiji to film Survivor 50. That left her very little time to pre-game with other people rumored to be on the new season.

At the same time, many people had plenty of time to pre-game. That might have been really easy for people who have already played the game four times.

“I know for a fact some people are pre-gaming very hard and I’m not afraid to use that information that they don’t even know that I have to my advantage out here,” Savannah told EW.

“It just is all about timing and waiting for the right time and the right person to bring that information to,” she added.

Later in her EW interview, Savannah elaborated on her views of the pre-gaming.

“Honestly this sounds bad, but I’m wary of anyone who is in the new era in this game, just because of the pre-gaming. I don’t trust them,” Savannah volunteered.

“And I’ve heard that some of the new-era people are wary of me already and I’m sure the old-school people are wary of me too, but at least I’m not hearing about it. I can put my head in the sand and pretend like that doesn’t exist,” the Survivor 49 winner added.

This is something to keep an eye on as the season begins. Will there be alliances in plain sight that make no sense because they were set up before the season began? We will all have to watch together to find out.

As a reminder, the Survivor 50 season premiere is on Wednesday, February 25. Paramount+ will stream episodes after they air on CBS.
