Survivor 50 confessionals have become a hot topic this week.
Following her exit episode, Angelina Keeley railed against what has been shown on TV.
Over five episodes (nine hours), there is a huge disparity between the people who get the most confessionals and those rarely seen on TV.
We hope that will shift as the season progresses, but some of these numbers are pretty notable.
What is a Survivor confessional?
A confessional is when a player sits by themselves and speaks to a cameraman. They can answer questions or speak about the game.
This is a trick on most reality TV shows to get the players’ inner monologues. They do the interviews confidentially, while getting to share (out loud) their thoughts.
On Survivor, a player is usually sitting in a nice spot in the jungle to help narrate what’s happening in the episode. It gives viewers more insight into what is happening each night.
Who has the most confessionals on Survivor 50?
First, can you guess which Survivor 50 castaway has had the fewest confessionals?
We have only seen Tiffany Ervin speak twice. That’s twice in nine hours of television. Yes, some of that time was commercials, but it’s still extremely low.
Four of the five people left with the fewest confessionals are women. Chrissy Hofbeck has five, Dee Valladares has six, Jonathan Young has eight, and Kamilla Karthigesu has nine.
Before they left early, Jenna Lewis-Dougherty and Kyle Fraser had four each. Savannah Louie had 11, Q Burdette had 18, and Mike White had 17. Angela left with nine, and Charlie Davis had 10.
At the top of the list are Christian Hubicki with 35 confessionals and Ozzy Lusth with 34. They are far ahead of everyone else on the show.
In total, we have seen 315 confessionals through five episodes.
