Bring on the drama! The Challenge: Vets and New Threats supertrailer premiered earlier today, and sure does pack a punch!
It’s Season 41 of MTV’s competition series, marking a new era of competitors following the Battle of the Eras.
However, there are seasoned vets involved, hence the title. They include show winners such as Cara Maria Sorbello, Johnny Bananas, CT Tamburello, Ashley “Millionaire” Mitchell, and Turbo Camkiran.
A few weeks ago, The Challenge unveiled a much shorter teaser trailer to get fans hyped for the new season.
However, this latest one clocks in at over three minutes and provides us with a lot more content to consume!
Here’s our breakdown of some of the key things we noticed in The Challenge Season 41 supertrailer.
Supertrailer spotlighted some new drama featuring Season 41 vets
We have already covered the previous Turbo vs. CT fight that we saw in the shorter trailer, which Turbo appears to be stirring up ahead of the season on social media.
They gave us just a bit more of that scene in the new trailer, so we know that those two will clash.
The supertrailer also features a new heated moment involving Ashley and Aneesa, though. In the scene, we see Ashley unloading on Aneesa.
These two were just partners on All Stars Rivals and seemed to get along fine. Surprisingly, we see it’s Turbo who is intervening to prevent a physical altercation!
Turbo may have a ton of camera time in this season, because another scene shows him calling out someone else. It appears to be part of an elimination scene, and he’s yelling at someone across from him in the spectator stands.
“You have a f***ing little brain dumb***,” he shouts, adding, “You come to me and you learn everything.”
Another scene shows Theo Campbell seemingly before or after an elimination, and he’s calling out someone as well.
“I’ll say what the f*** I want and you’ll do nothing,” Theo yells up to the stands.
Supertrailer reveals a Season 41 twist and cheaters
Don’t forget about host TJ Lavin. He’s involved in creating and exposing some drama, as seen in the supertrailer.
There’s one part where he shakes up the game by announcing cast members will change partners. It cuts to a funny confessional sound bite of Turbo saying everyone’s “social game is bye-bye.”
We previously mentioned that each rookie will pair with a veteran cast member. Based on TJ’s announcement, they’ll change things up after an elimination.
And then there are the cheaters. We saw weeks ago that TJ tells the entire cast after a daily challenge that if there’s something he dislikes more than quitters, it’s cheaters.
The supertrailer may or may not reveal the cheaters. Around the 2:20 mark, we see footage from a daily, including a female cast member seemingly telling some fellow castmates resting next to a small tower about part of the task they need to do.
At least one of the castmates appears to be Turbo, with his distinctive beard, suggesting that the rookie is sharing information with Turbo and his rookie partner. We hear a “don’t say anything” soundbite from Turbo.

Another scene features rookie Justin Hinsley (from Netflix’s Cheer) crouching close to the ground and telling production or someone to “check the tapes” and “there are two whole red peppers back there.”
We’re guessing these are unrelated scenes, placed together to suggest they’re part of the same “cheating” situation.
However, in a scene after TJ tells the cast how much he dislikes cheaters, we see some shocked cast members. Rookie Blue Kim seems upset about the host’s remarks. Is she one of the guilty “cheating” individuals?
Vets and New Threats features showmances and emotional moments
We don’t typically see many showmances emerge from each season of The Challenge. We already know of at least one in Season 41. Olivia and Theo return as a couple who met on Battle of the Eras and continued dating into the filming of Vets and New Threats.
In the new supertrailer, we get a few teases. Bananas, who has been in a few showmances over his Challenge career, seems to have cozied up with one of the Season 41 rookies. It’s 28-year-old Survivor star Dee Valladares, who appeared in CBS’ Survivor 45.
It’s interesting to see, considering how Bananas previously criticized castmates like Devin Walker and Michele Fitzgerald, as well as Horacio Gutierrez and Nurys Mateo, for having a relationship on the show.

That said, the rookie from Survivor seems to know exactly what she’s doing, from a game perspective.
“Ladies, you kiss ’em, you tease ’em, and you don’t give your power away,” Dee says in a confessional interview.
We see a few more rookies who may have showmances or be hooking up. Justin comforts Are You The One? star Will Gagnon, who is in tears, telling him he has his back.
There’s another scene showing two rookies kissing at nighttime near or in the swimming pool at The Challenge house. They’re a bit harder to see from the darker night footage.
There’s also CT comforting his friend Cara Maria as she reveals “it sucks,” and he tells her he wishes he “could make it better.” This is likely due to a personal matter that affected Cara during the season.
An earlier scene showed Olivia in tears, expressing the difficulty of playing the game and her desire to become a champion.
Along with all of the above, there are also some glimpses of intense-looking eliminations and daily challenges for the Season 41 cast!
Although many details are not yet known, based on the teasers for Vets and New Threats, we’re excited and intrigued to see what’s to come. Share your thoughts below about what you’ve noticed in the supertrailer!
The Challenge: Vets and New Threats premieres Wednesday, July 30 at 8/7c on MTV.
