Chris “CT” Tamburello is no stranger to heated altercations during his career on MTV’s The Challenge. They’ve included physical attacks resulting in production sending him home early.
During the new season, Vets and New Threats, CT was involved in one of those heated altercations with vet castmate, Turabi “Turbo” Camkiran.
While it was dramatic and seemed explosive during the episode, things calmed down between these vets. A more recent in-house argument involved serious drama not shown in the final episode.
CT recently shared a strong message about one of his newest castmates, Big Brother alum Cedric Hodges. He has been among Season 41’s rookie men who seem to have a legit shot at contending in a final.
For the most part, Cedric has remained calm and composed under pressure during the various daily challenges and deliberation votes.
However, occasionally things become volatile within The Challenge house, leading to some major blowups, and Cedric was part of one that looked like it could have gone worse.
Former Big Brother star got into surprising altercation with The Challenge castmate
For some reason, The Challenge production keeps cutting out some of the best drama from the final episodes, including the Season 41 footage (below) that arrived after Episode 9 aired on MTV.
In the aired Episode 9 that viewers saw on Wednesday night, Aneesa Ferreira overheard her vet castmate, Ashley Mitchell, talking trash about Aneesa’s ability to win the season. That prompted Aneesa to confront Ashley, who had several castmates nearby, including Theo Campbell and Dee Valladares.
Following their argument, castmates Nany Gonzalez and Olivia Kaiser comforted Aneesa in another room. Things eventually settled down on that front, but the deleted scene reveals there was further blowup involving two rookies.
In the clip, Gabe Wai and Cedric are shouting at one another in one of the rooms. Gabe is warning his rookie castmate about “coming at” him a certain way. Cedric is trying to explain why he entered the room and called him out.
Eventually, one of the other rookies intervened to diffuse the situation. Everyone daps it up or hugs it out and moves on.
Gabe is a former football player and WWE developmental star, who easily handled a physical elimination against seven-time champion Johnny Bananas. While they weren’t necessarily going at each other in a Hall Brawl or Balls In, the nature of the event showed just how impressively strong and athletic Gabe is.
That’s not to discount Cedric, who has performed admirably so far throughout Season 41, including keeping himself out of eliminations through Episode 9.
The Challenge’s CT sent a strong message to Cedric about his fight
In the comment section of the above Instagram clip, CT Tamburello reacted to the scene featuring the show’s two newcomers in their explosive argument.
“too many young heads have a certain energy when they don’t want to be ‘off camera’. I wish I had your restraint at your age…,” he wrote in a comment, tagging Gabe.
“@_famous4nothing if someone came into my room at your age runnin’ their mouth… shhhhhhhit. Queue the montage. You a better man than me, @gabewaifit 🙏,” CT replied to his comment.
“@_famous4nothing care to elaborate 👀,” Cedric replied, which prompted CT to drop another comment to the rookie.
“You are a good kid. The kid I would want the kids of the parents who grew up w me have their kids look up to… @officiallyced FR. ✝️ I hope this all gets squashed. Don’t fight. Handle it on the field. 🙏,” CT told him.

It’s a powerful teaching moment between the veteran, who has won five championships, and a Big Brother newcomer who seems poised to have a promising future on The Challenge. CT certainly has his highlight reel of clips he might want to forget, including blowups and altercations involving Davis Mallory and Adam King.
It was a far different time, too. Someone involved in CT’s physical altercations from the past in today’s version of The Challenge might not get called to come back. Thankfully, both Gabe and Cedric kept themselves composed and didn’t cost themselves getting eliminated.
The Challenge: Vets and New Threats airs Wednesdays at 8/7c on MTV.
