It’s been a long winter hiatus for Chicago Fire.
Fans have had to wait patiently for NBC to bring back the show.
But the good news is that many new episodes are on the way. Despite a lull in the action, the One Chicago shows will return with a fury in January 2026.
As a reminder to Chicago Fire fans, there are some messes to address when the show returns. Herrmann and his family lost their home to a fire, Mouch’s job is at risk due to budget cuts, and Severide is trapped in a fire that an arsonist set.
The first seven episodes from Chicago Fire Season 14 are streaming on Peacock. It might be important for fans to rewatch some of them before the big winter premiere.
When does Chicago Fire return for Season 14?
Chicago Fire returns on Wednesday, January 7. That’s when the winter premiere will air on NBC. It’s Season 14, Episode 8, and the installment is called A Man Possessed.
“When an act of arson harms someone close to the Firehouse 51 family, Severide must track down the perpetrator; impending budget cuts push Mouch and Pascal to get creative,” reads the full episode synopsis.
The fire is at the home of a high school principal. Severide and Van Meter have gone there to speak to him about students targeting him. That’s when we see someone setting a fire on the first-level stairs, trapping the trio upstairs.
As a reminder, Kidd is out of town. She took their foster kid to check on his birth mother in Cleveland. So she has no idea what’s happening back home.
We will also see more of Brandon Larracuente as Sal Vasquez (pictured above). He was a new addition to the Chicago Fire cast, replacing Firefighter Sam Carver (played by Jake Lockett).
