The Chicago Med return is almost upon us. We have all waited long enough for new episodes to arrive, and luckily, NBC is about to fulfill that request.
Thus far, the first seven episodes of Chicago Med Season 11 have debuted. NBC had a string of seven consecutive weeks with new installments of Med, Fire, and P.D.
However, the long winter hiatus then occurred, creating a significant gap in time between episodes seven and eight.
What is Chicago Med’s return date?
A new episode of Chicago Med arrives on Wednesday, January 7. It is followed by new episodes of Fire and P.D. that same night. Also, every Wednesday night in January will provide new episodes.
Chicago Med Season 11, Episode 8 (Triple Threat) is a continuation of the fall finale. As a reminder, we were left with a huge cliffhanger.
Dr. Caitlin Lenox (played by Sarah Ramos) was concerned when the husband of a former patient showed up at the ED with severe injuries. Earlier in the season, she discovered that the man had been abusing his wife. And Lenox wasn’t backing down.
While another doctor distracted the husband, Lenox left the hospital to visit their home. She found the woman at the bottom of their basement stairs, seriously injured. Lenox returned to the first floor to find help, but that’s when the husband appeared.
The screen went black, and we didn’t find out what happened with Lenox or the other woman. We will now find out with the upcoming winter premiere.

Below is the promo that NBC has shared for the Chicago Med winter premiere. Dr. Hannah Asher’s (Jessy Schram) father shows up at the hospital, likely making it awkward for her baby daddy, Dr. Dean Archer (Steven Weber).
We don’t see any reference to the situation Lenox finds herself in, so we are left to worry about her. The promo was just too brief.
