Johnny Bananas reveals how much money he has made on The Challenge

The Challenge legend Johnny Bananas recently spoke about how much money he has made on the show.

Bananas also addressed how much new players can make, noting that it’s much more than in the show’s early years.

John Amadeus “Johnny Bananas” Devenanzio got his start on The Real World: Key West. Since then, he has appeared on various reality TV shows, including The Traitors US, but he is best known for competing on The Challenge.

Bananas is a champion of The Island, The Ruins, Rivals, Battle of the Exes, Free Agents, Rivals III, Champs vs. Stars 1, and Total Madness.

He was also a Finalist on The Inferno 3, Rivals II, Ride or Dies, The Challenge: USA 2, and Battle of the Eras.

Soon, viewers will see him on The Challenge 42.

Johnny Bananas speaks about winnings from The Challenge

During a recent interview with the Hollywood Raw Podcast, Bananas spoke about how much money he has won on The Challenge.

“How much money have you won overall from The Challenge?” Bananas was asked.

“I mean, it’s seven figures. I wish I would have done my winning back; I wish I wouldn’t have done my winning back in the day, because now, it’s like basically, if you win, you’re basically guaranteed somewhere just shy of half a million. Could be more than that. I mean, we’ve had people walk home with a full million,” Bananas revealed.

“Back in the day, when I was like in my heyday, and when I was winning, it was like you’re splitting $50,000 and you know, you’re murdering people for a T-Mobile Sidekick, so it’s definitely changed. It’s definitely changed quite a bit. And it’s a shame now, cause that’s the thing: you have someone like Ashley Mitchell, who’s won one time, but because she’s won a million, she’s won almost as much as me, and I’ve won seven times,” Bananas elaborated.

“The prize money isn’t necessarily indicative of, I guess, success, unfortunately. I wish it was,” Bananas added. “What I’ve again, what I’ve made the lion’s share of my income and my money off of is, you know, endorsements, and using the brand and the household name.”

There you have it. Of course, it wouldn’t be Bananas if he wasn’t shading another Challenge player, as he pushed Ashley (hard) under that bus.

Ashley isn’t on The Challenge 42. But the season features Bananas and many other legends.
