Chicago P.D. has released a promo for the final episode of LaRoyce Hawkins.
Hawkins has played Officer Kevin Atwater for years, but his final episode has arrived.
As Tea on TV previously reported, Intelligence soon loses Atwater. It’s another big hit for the team.
Luckily, the showrunner and writers had time to prep, so they can end his story in a way fans can enjoy.
“We really wanted to give the best sendoff that we could. Of course, you want it to be very natural for the character. You want it to feel organic. We wanted this to feel like something that hopefully isn’t just coming out of left field, that we could take little pieces that maybe were already embedded and just try our best to make it feel as real and authentic for him as possible,” showrunner Gwen Sigan stated.
When is Atwater’s final Chicago P.D. episode?
Chicago P.D. Season 14, Episode 2 marks Officer Kevin Atwater’s exit.
“A significant turning point in Atwater’s life prompts him to make a decision about his future,” reads the simple synopsis.
We all know what this means. Atwater is now a dad. It likely plays directly into a decision to leave Chicago.
“A Hero’s Final Episode,” reads the tagline of a new TV promo.
Below you can watch the preview for Atwater’s final episode (Don’t Blink). It’s a quick one. But it is honest about what fans will experience.
We are losing an original character, so it will hit fans hard. Intelligence won’t be the same without Atwater.
We always thought that the writers underutilized LaRoyce Hawkins. Maybe his next acting stop will put him front and center of a new show.
As a reminder, Atwater’s final episode airs on Wednesday, October 14 at 10/9c. After that, fans can stream all of his Chicago P.D. episodes on Peacock.
