Survivor 50, Episode 3: ‘It’s time to drop your buffs’

The Survivor 50 cast will drop their buffs and shake up the game during the next episode.

Host Jeff Probst teased the big moment during a preview for the March 11 installment.

Getting to this point was easy, as three people have already been eliminated.

The first person voted out was Jenna Lewis-Dougherty. An injury ended the game for Kyle Fraser.

Then, a huge blindside took out Savannah Louie during the March 4 episode.

Only 21 people remain in the game. That makes it easy to shake things up again.

Survivor 50, Episode 3 promo revealed

“A foreboding Treemail message leaves castaways hungry for information regarding an imminent change. Knowledge is power as the Boomerang Idols begin to rear their heads within tribes. Then, past mistakes and baggage haunt players in their quest for redemption,” reads the episode synopsis for March 11.

We noticed the hint about “Knowledge is power” during Episode 3. It sounds like someone will find another hidden clue. And the Boomerang Idols may come home to roost already.

“It’s time to drop your buffs,” host Jeff Probst states in the new episode promo.

Every Survivor fan (and player) knows what this means. For Survivor 50, it means the fans voted to have the Tribe Swap.

For the show, it appears that the Tribe Swap happens on Day 7. While they have only been playing the game for a week, that’s a lifetime in Survivor terms. Alliances could crumble. But in a season already dominated by pre-gaming, will that impact much? Let’s see!

More from Survivor 50

As a reminder, Survivor 50 episodes air Wednesdays at 8/7c on CBS. After the three-hour premiere, episodes are back to 90-minute installments.

Previous episodes are always available for streaming on Paramount+. That includes past seasons.

Is this the season where Cirie Fields finally becomes a Survivor winner? She’s in a good spot.

Is Dee Valladares in danger? Two former winners (Kyle and Savannah) just went home. That leaves her even more vulnerable, especially to pre-gamed alliances.

Looking ahead, if you haven’t heard yet, Survivor 50 gets a live Reunion Show on CBS. It arrives this spring.

Reality TV news and notes

Jenna blamed pre-gaming for her early elimination. She felt that alliances formed before the season led to her departure on Day 3.

Additionally, Kyle Fraser updated his fans on how he is doing. In addition to an injury update, Kyle revealed what we didn’t see on TV.

Survivor alums are on The Challenge 42. Filming for the new season is happening in Thailand.
