The Big Brother 2025 season began on Thursday night with host Julie Chen Moonves welcoming fans back to the stage.
Sixteen strangers checked into the Hotel Mystere (the new theme), as a summer of secrets began.
A segment revealed the first eight houseguests.
Kelley is from a town of 50 people and has already been to all 50 states.
Zach is a former professional baseball player. He’s very proud of his skincare routine.
Ashley is an attorney in New York City, and she thinks her weakness in the game could be a boy.
Rylie is a professional bull rider. His family warned him about entering into any showmances.
Amy is an insurance agent and a single mom of three kids.
Adrian is a carpenter. He considers himself a nerd and has an odd animal collection. He loves Big Brother.
Lauren went to LSU and works as a bridal stylist. She is a Big Brother superfan.
Keanu is a personal trainer from Texas. He is named after actor Keanu Reeves, whom his parents love. He is also a self-professed nerd and dungeon master.
Zach, Amy, Adrian, and Kelley were the first four people unleashed on the house.
Keanu, Rylie, Ashley, and Lauren went in next. On the wall, a clock was shown counting down.
Lauren, Keanu, and Adrian have watched Big Brother for years.

The next eight houseguests got their segment.
Katherine is a fine-dining server and a self-professed “raging feminist” who loves being single.
Vince is unemployed. He is a former college baseball player who lives with his parents. He used to be a delivery driver to the CBS lot and envisioned being on Big Brother.
Mickey is an event curator. She calls herself “the fairy godmother of experiences,” and loves the countryside.
Jimmy is a strategy consultant in DC who used to work for the federal government. He played competitive tennis and will lean into that in the house.
Morgan is a gamer, model, and content creator. She does online streaming from Los Angeles. A former track athlete, she also loves gaming.
Zae is a door-to-door salesman who recently left the Mormon church. He was a cheerleader at BYU and looks forward to eating slop. Zae loves math and chess.
Will is a 50-year-old college sports podcaster. He has three daughters and served in the Army for 20 years. He has watched Big Brother for years.
Ava is an artist in New York City. She creates aura portraits and is an art teacher who loves the 1960s vibe.
Mickey, Zae, Katherine, and Jimmy were the next four people to enter.
Vince, Morgan, Ava, and Will were the final four people in the door.
The energy was high for these 16 houseguests. It will be interesting to see if they can maintain that level.
Julie and the 16 BB27 players
Julie called everyone into the living room to welcome them to the show. She was on the screen and spoke about needing to use their powers of observation.
A clock was shown counting down, and then the lights went out as Julie was mid-sentence. When the lights came back on, Julie was gone, and only a shoe remained on the stage.
A mysterious character appeared on screen. They had stolen an HOH relic and were responsible for Julie’s disappearance.
Julie called and said that eight people would search for her while eight searched for the relic. The houseguests who found Julie and the HOH relic would get rewards.
Eight people competed in an intense challenge to rescue Julie. Ava, Lauren, Adrian, Rylie, Zach, Mickey, Amy, and Vince battled it out. Mickey and Rylie said they threw it.
Zach found Julie and won the challenge.
The other eight people were searching for the missing HOH relic. Zae, Keanu, Ashley, Katherine, Kelley, Morgan, Jimmy, and Will only had to find the same relic that had been in the house earlier. Who would remember what they saw?
Jimmy found the correct relic to win that challenge.
Game-changing powers on Big Brother 27
Zach won $10,000 for winning his challenge.
Jimmy got the power to decide which four people would compete for HOH. Jimmy chatted with many people about whether or not they wanted to play in it. Many houseguests seemed uninterested in being the first HOH.
Jimmy picked himself, Adrian, Ashley, and Vince to play. Ashley said she was planning to throw it in her Diary Room session.
The first Head of Household Competition for Big Brother 2025
Jimmy, Adrian, Ashley, and Vince competed to become Head of Household.
Jimmy wanted to win badly. Vince wanted guaranteed safety by winning it. Ashley was bad at it, but she said she wasn’t trying in her interviews after the challenge. Later, she also said she wanted to win. Adrian craved safety.
Vince won the Head of Household Competition. He is safe and gets to name the nominees for eviction.
Vince must nominate three people for eviction.
A Mystery Houseguest on Big Brother 27
Surprisingly, to the BB27 cast, a 17th houseguest entered the game. It was a shocking moment to wrap up premiere night.
The masked figure appeared on the main screen again to introduce a new roommate. In walked Big Brother legend Rachel Reilly.
The masked figure revealed they had an accomplice in the house. That accomplice let someone into the house who had become the 17th houseguest. If the players could guess the accomplice of the masked figure, that player would go home.
Viewers will find out how this goes during the next episode.
