By now, most Big Brother fans have already heard about the Mystery Houseguest.
As previously reported by Tea on TV, that mystery person is on the BB27 cast.
Some fans assume that it is a former houseguest returning to cause some drama.
However, the producers have already stated that there will be no returning houseguests this summer.
So what does that leave us with? It could be stunt casting, much like they did with the Big Brother 25 cast.
Survivor legend Cirie Fields was brought on the show to play with her son, Jared Fields. It added some intrigue and drama to the summer.
Julie provides clues on the Big Brother twist
Host Julie Chen Moonves participated in a new interview, during which she spoke about the Mystery Houseguest.
No, she didn’t give us their name, although that could have been a nice treat for people checking in.
“What I can say is the mystery houseguest, when I was told who this person is, I had to expect the unexpected! I never expected that person,” Julie told EW.
“And I was very excited because, in my opinion, getting that person is epic. And that person is also very polarizing. So there’s going to be a strong reaction in both directions for this mystery houseguest,” the host elaborated.
Reading between the lines, it sounds like the Mystery Houseguest is someone that some fans will love and others will love to root against. It’s a delicate balancing act to have a houseguest that producers know people will dislike on Day 1. But it could add to the intrigue.
Some fans might also remember how they teased an additional presence last year, but it turned out to be an artificial intelligence entity called AINSLEY.
The AI theme didn’t sit well with everyone, and it turned off some viewers. However, it was born from this that the return of having three weekly nominees for eviction occurred. That twist worked well and could be part of something that returns for BB27.
