Many Big Brother fans were disappointed when Slippery Slope did not appear this summer. The intense challenge is the Big Brother version of a slip and slide, with contestants trying to transport liquid from one side of the backyard to the other.
Often, houseguests will fall or stumble during Slippery Slope, adding some comedic value to the challenge. But the BB27 cast didn’t play the iconic competition. Neither did the BB26 cast. Now, we are finally getting some answers about why it vanished.
Big Brother addresses the missing Slippery Slope Challenge
“I think if we do the slip and slide again, we have to come up with a tweak or an adjustment,” Big Brother executive producer Rich Meehan told EW.
“So that way anybody could win it,” he elaborated. “What tended to happen with the game is just the tallest, typically most athletic person would win. So it just became almost a given who would win that game.”
He’s not wrong. And yet Big Brother fans still loved watching it. The challenge did yield some exciting moments between the more athletic players, but, indeed, there was often a clear winner.
“We do love it because it’s funny, but we want to try to make sure that it’s a game that anybody could win,” Meehan further added.
As for who would have won Slippery Slope on Big Brother 27, the two executive producers feel they already know.
“I do think Morgan would’ve had a good shot. Balance plays into it. It depends on the cast, because sometimes you just have those dominant physical players, and it’s an obvious outcome. But I’ve been asked that a few times, so it’s probably worth bringing back,” stated fellow Big Brother executive producer Allison Grodner.
If everyone could have played, who do you think would have won Slipper Slope on Big Brother 27? Could Keanu Soto have kept his balance for a big win? Would someone sent home early in the season have succeeded?
Hopefully, the producers will work out the kinks, find a way to play it that they deem to be fairer, and put it back into place for Big Brother 28.
