Captain Lee Rosbach was there when it all began for Below Deck. The OG star helped launch what is now a mega-hit franchise with multiple spin-offs.
July 1 marked 12 years since Season 1 of Below Deck premiered on Bravo. Since then, four spin-offs have emerged and over 30 seasons have aired.
Despite no longer being on the show, Captain Lee took to X to mark the show’s anniversary.
The captain reshared an X that read Today TV History: #BelowDeck Premiered 2013 @BravoTV Starring @capthlr @BenRobinsonChef @AdrienneGang @katostate #EddieLucas @Captaleks #CJLebeau #SamanthaOrme #DavidBradberry.”
In true Captain Lee fashion, he didn’t miss a beat giving props to Below Deck.
“I truly think that episode was truly ground breaking for TV and I was proud to be part of it. Thank you all,” he wrote.
As Below Deck fans know, Captain Lee spent 10 seasons on the hit yachting show. It’s no secret that his departure was not the captain’s idea.
Fans flooded Captain Lee’s X to share how much they missed having him on their TV screens.
“Call me crazy, but I miss the “old days” when you were Captain and we had more boat porn and less porn stars. Miss ya Lee!” read a fan comment.
Another fan expressed, “I gave the latest Below Deck season a shot but it just wasn’t entertaining like when Captain Lee was the skipper. @BravoTV take note: Down Under and Sailing Yacht are good shows but Below Deck needs help and that help would be in the form of Captain Lee taking back the helm.”
“Not the same anymore,” stated a fan.
Season 12 of Below Deck is currently playing out with Captain Kerry Titheradge at the helm with his trusty Chief Stew Fraser Olender. The days of Captain Lee and Kate Chastain are long gone, but that doesn’t mean Below Deck isn’t worth watching.
Fans are still getting outraged by charter guests’ behavior, and as Tea on TV reported, the most recent group of guests was as “low class” as it gets.
What do you think of Below Deck today?
Below Deck airs Mondays at 8/7c on Bravo.
