Chicago Fire Season 14 will bring more excitement from Firehouse 51. The new season begins on Wednesday, October 1, but there are some changes to the cast.
Gone is Firefighter Sam Carver. Actor Jake Lockett played the part, but his character isn’t part of the new stories. We will likely get a throwaway line or two during the season premiere about what happened with Carver.
Firefighter Darren Ritter (played by Daniel Kyri) returns to end his character’s current storylines. It’s unclear how many scenes or episodes Ritter will be featured in, but the character won’t be around for long.
Brandon Larracuente joins Chicago Fire as Firefighter Sal Vasquez
“A new face at Firehouse 51 causes tension, while rising chaos in the city brings new challenges to the team; Herrmann stalls on plans of relinquishing his office to Mouch,” reads the synopsis for the Chicago Fire season premiere.
The new face belongs to actor Brandon Larracuente, who steps into one of the openings at Firehouse 51. He plays Firefighter Sal Vasquez, so fans will have to learn a new face and name.
We do have some great news, though. Many of the familiar faces are returning. That includes Taylor Kinney as Lieutenant Kelly Severide, David Eigenberg as Firefighter Christopher Herrmann, Miranda Rae Mayo as Lieutenant Stella Kidd, Christian Stolte as Lieutenant Randy “Mouch” McHolland, Dermot Mulroney as Battalion Chief Dom Pascal, and Hanako Greensmith as Paramedic Violet Mikami.
Below is a video introducing Firefighter Sal Vasquez. We get to hear more about the character, who is basically taking over for Mouch as the driver for Kidd’s truck. All Chicago Fire fans should watch the footage to get a feel for the new guy before he debuts on the season premiere.
More from One Chicago
Previous episodes of Chicago Fire are available for streaming on Peacock. That includes the Season 13 finale, which reveals why Herrmann has been demoted (his choice) and Mouch is now in a position. It should lead to some interesting Season 14 dynamics.
The Chicago Med cast has a huge surprise for viewers. A character from the past is returning to the show for Season 11.
