The Chicago Med cast welcomes back Nick Gehlfuss this fall. Fans have missed Dr. Will Halstead, but he will soon be a part of the One Chicago world again.
Dr. Halstead was important to the Chicago Med cast. He was on the season premiere and a featured character right up until his exit in the Season 8 finale.
During Chicago Med Season 8, Episode 22, Halstead was burnt out, and he left to move to Seattle and continue his relationship with Dr. Natalie Manning (Torrey DeVitto).
Chicago Med fans get to see Dr. Halstead again
The open-ended exit by Dr. Halstead kept it possible for Gehlfuss to return to the show. Now, it has been confirmed that he will do just that, but it’s unclear how long he will be around. It is being called a “guest-starring” appearance, but anything is possible.
IMDb states that Halstead will appear in the second episode of the season, which is slated to air on Wednesday, October 8. That episode is called A Game of Inches.
Below is a set photo teasing Halstead’s return. Co-star Luke Mitchell shared the fun photo, writing, “2 weeks… #ChicagoMed #Season11.”
Season 11 begins on October 1
The new Chicago Med season debuts on Wednesday, October 1, at 8/7c.
“A family of victims from a house fire are rushed to Gaffney. Lenox fights to save two sisters injured in an all-night rave turned tragedy. Tensions mount between Goodwin and Abrams over difficult staffing changes,” reads the full synopsis.
The season premiere will also address the cliffhangers left over from Season 10. As a reminder, Dr. Hannah Asher learned that she was pregnant, but viewers were left to guess whether the baby belonged to Dr. Archer or Dr. Ripley. We may find out very soon.
To re-watch the Season 10 finale, it is available for streaming on Peacock.
