Chicago P.D. fans got a huge teaser on Wednesday night.
As the One Chicago night wrapped up on February 4, a huge teaser trailer for the crossover event aired on NBC.
As previously reported by Tea on TV, Med, Fire, and P.D. share a crossover storyline this spring.
The early footage sure packed a punch, but the biggest news came in the final moments of the promo.
Upstead returns to Chicago P.D.
NBC just announced that Jesse Lee Soffer and Tracy Spiridakos reprise their roles as Jay Halstead and Hailey Upton on March 4.
This is huge. We haven’t seen Halstead or Upton in a long time, and they finally return to the small screen for this event.
“Did someone call for backup? Halstead and Upton return for the One Chicago Crossover Event Wednesday, March 4 on @NBC and streaming on Peacock,” reads the caption to a new video.
Check out the action below. Are you excited for the big night? We really hope everyone survives, but the promo has us questioning everything.
Yes, it likely means we only get Upton and Halstead for one new episode, but it’s huge to have Upstead working a case again.
What happened to Halstead and Upton on Chicago P.D.?
Jesse Lee Soffer played Detective Jay Halstead on the Chicago P.D. cast for years. He left in the third episode of Season 10, with his character having had enough of the city.
Soffer later appeared on FBI: International as a primary character.
Tracy Spiridakos joined the cast of Chicago P.D. a few years into the show. She played Detective Hailey Upton, another member of the Intelligence team and the wife of Jay Halstead.
Spiridakos stayed through the Season 11 finale, where Upton saved Hank Voight (Jason Beghe) before heading off into the sunset. Upton needed a fresh start and got one.
We haven’t seen Upton or Halstead in several years, but now they will return to the show for the same huge episode.
But we must also wait for this big episode. A long winter hiatus has hit for the One Chicago shows.
More news from the One Chicago shows
A huge character exit is hitting Chicago Fire this season. It was an unexpected revelation for the show.
Fans are worried that LaRoyce Hawkins is leaving the Chicago P.D. cast. He has played Officer Kevin Atwater for years.
Here’s an update on what happened to Ruzek on Chicago P.D. Patrick John Flueger plays Officer Adam Ruzek on the Chicago P.D. cast, but the character (and actor) has been MIA.
