We’re in the throes of Married at First Sight Season 20 after a major shakeup with a new platform and new experts.
Now, former expert Pastor Calvin Roberson is speaking about his shocking exit from the franchise.
In a video shared online, the longtime MAFS expert, known for his bluntness and no-nonsense approach, shed some light on what was happening behind the scenes.
Why did Pastor Cal leave Married at First Sight?
We never imagined Married at First Sight without Pastor Cal and Dr Pepper Schwartz, who’ve been experts on the show for over a decade.
However, the franchise’s move to Peacock after Season 18 spelled the end of the duo’s run on the show.
Pastor Cal recently took to social media after getting questions from MAFS fans about his exit.
“Many of you have asked, ‘Why did I leave Married at First Sight?’ Well, here’s the truth,” he said.
“After the show moved to Peacock, they went into a completely different direction, which is fine with me because there was some value conflict,” he continued.
However, the former expert noted that there’s no bad blood despite bidding goodbye to the franchise, telling his followers, “We’re good.”
MAFS fans want Pastor Cal back on the show
The former MAFS expert has plenty to keep him occupied despite not being on the show anymore.
For one, he’s still advising married couples through his Marriage Ain’t For Punks app, alongside his stunning wife, Wendy Roberson.
In his new video, Pastor Cal also teased an upcoming project, though he didn’t share many details, simply saying, “I’m starting something new.”
However, after posting his recent video, MAFS fans jumped in the comments to express how much they’ve missed his presence on the show.
“The show changed a lot, and I’m not a fan of the new experts,” one commenter admitted in part.
“We can tell they went a different way. The scenes, editing, and just production in general is different now. It sucks,” exclaimed someone else.
Another MAFS viewer said, “So upset that you aren’t in this season! You were one of the realest ones on the show to help these couples.”
