Home Run Derby participants face new rules in 2026

The 2026 Home Run Derby participants face a new set of rules.

This could shake things up, but it may also help keep players energized and healthy.

It’s no longer a challenge of unlimited swings. Rather than rely on a timer, players will have their swings counted.

One positive side effect could be that players won’t get worn out from the competition. In recent years, we have seen players wear down, and then some enter the second half in a downturn. Coincidence? Maybe. But now we can put it to bed.
